Late at night, a phone call shattered the silence in the room, and Noah answered it. His exhaustion vanished once he saw the caller's name.
"Yes, Deputy?"
"Mr. Carter, I have some great news for you. We have managed to track down four bombs. They were hidden in and around our city."
"That's great news, Deputy. You have worked hard."
"Not at all, Mr. Carter. I'll call you later. Although Major Meyers is overseeing everything, I also need to report to the authorities. I cannot hide this from them anymore." Valerie sighed, a headache creeping in on her when she thought of her Chief.
'Why do I get such assholes as my Chief?' she wondered and ended the call after exchanging a few more words.
