Mia jumped to her feet the moment Noah entered the meeting room. The man oozed anger and she didn't have to look at his face to see him glare at her. She could feel it even though she had eyes on her feet.
"Miss Stevenson," Noah unbuttoned her coat and took his chair. "Speak." He barked, his voice making her flinch in fright. But he didn't offer any words of apology or concern, she didn't deserve it.
"I came here to.. to.. to apologize to you, Mr. Carter." Mia stuttered, too scared to look at him.
Noah noticed the way she was addressing him. Unlike the previous times when she had called him by his name, this time she was addressing him formally.
"Why? May I ask?" He didn't trust her, not even an ounce. The lady looked weak and meek, but that didn't mean she wasn't wicked. He knew what she had done and how far she had gone. For what? Just to get him.
