"Preston?" Jared was still spooked to see him before him and looked at him with his eyes wide. He now realized what had happened and how he was captured. If not for Preston, how could he have been trapped?
"Did you inform them about my return?" He demanded, and Preston let out a chuckle in amusement.
"Yes. But even if I didn't, they'd have known about it themselves." Preston replied as he studied the wounded man. He couldn't deny that Jared's state pleased him greatly. He had been waiting for this for years.
"What do you mean?"
"Why do you think you got caught so easily?" Preston had all the patience in him, and he answered him with a question of his own.
At first, Jared didn't understand what was happening. But after thinking for a minute, everything fell into place.
"Did you plan all of this?" Jared's gaze immediately went to Noah, and everyone understood to whom the question was not meant.
