Ivy groaned softly when she felt her head throb. It was as if someone had picked up a heavy-weight hammer and smashed it on her head. Moreover, her breathing was quick and she felt suffocated. Her chest felt constricted and painful.
Squinting her closed eyes for a moment to ease the pain, she tried to move but felt helpless. Her body weighed a ton and she felt lethargic. Her entire body was in discomfort. Forcing all the energy in her, she tried to open her eyelids which seemed to be weighed down by lead bricks.
The sudden lights stung her eyes and she closed them immediately. After waiting for a few seconds, her eyes fluttered open again. At first, her sight was hazy and she couldn't make out anything or anyone around her. She even felt light-headed and weak.
