No one in the room was surprised by Valerie's stance in this matter. It was true that unlike her, they had not gone through the misery of losing someone close to them. So, they could not empathize with her except Aria and Ivy.
They were the only ones who understood her predicament. They were close to losing their father and if not for Noah, Joshua and Ian saving them, they too would have been in the same boat as Valerie's.
Jonathan lowered his head, his face ashen and filled with guilt. "It was all my fault. All my fault." He sighed in regret. Every word of hers had hit his heart deeply and he could not refute her accusations. It was the truth. If only he had been careful, he could have saved a lot of lives.
"We are sorry." Maggie smiled at them apologetically and looked at Joshua who shook his head immediately. She had nothing to apologize for. Valerie was not wrong and it would only make them more ashamed if they were to accept this apology.
