In an ancient forest where time seems to have left no mark, where the beast roam free and wild with no influence from the outside world laid a black egg, that was reptilian in nature, and gave off a sense of pressure that felt ancient, and mysterious coupled with the size of the egg which was comparable to the modern worlds discovery of the Elephant Bird's Egg it laid in a hidden grotto, concealed from all. For thousands of years it has been still waiting for life to be imbued into it.
As if welcoming, it's new life the egg began shaking and cracks began appearing, time seemed to stop as if the universes attention has been drawn to this egg, everything felt as if it came to a standstill.
While this event was happening, far away in the cosmos an ancient order started to awaken as if this moment was it sole purpose in life.
"The time has come, it has been 10,000 years since the last death of this damn demonic beast that won't stop coming back, why does the heavens and gods above favor this bastard, we must warn the all the dimensional lords that the Taotie, has made a return."
Back to the hidden grotto, egg shells could be seen in pieces scattered around the place, and in the center laid a black mass of fur that hid a pair of intelligent eyes that only held innocence.
"Eat........Eat....EAT"
This feeling of hunger struck this mass of fur as if it was it's sole purpose in life was to consume, it's eyes shifted around, left to right and came to rest on the egg shells that have been scattered around it's place of hatching. Under normal circumstances a Taotie's shell can not be broken by any force known to life, it's an object placed by the heavens and can not be destroyed, but to the Taotie itself the egg shell is as soft and light as air, and can easily be eaten.
As, the black being eats the egg shells the magic imbued into the egg shells start to appear within it's mind as ancestral memories from what the heaven's left from its predecessors, each memory varies in length some going on for thousands of years some remain short only encompassing the first few years of life before death. After a period of time, all the egg shell remains have been swallowed into the black mass of fur, with no sign of fullness being shown in its body as if there's a dark abyss hidden inside its stomach.
Waiting to digest all of the memories, and placing their importance in order, the black beast has come to an understanding of what it is. A Taotie, the creature blessed but yet cursed by the heavens, with a relentless desire to consume and grow stronger, but hated by all sentient beings in the dimensional planes, because as it grows stronger the danger it brings increases and it's power has no bounds as long as there is something to consume, making this creature the priority to destroy for all races.
Shifting through all this information the young Taotie, places it's first priority to stay hidden, and ensure it's own survival in this world. After making it's priorities it starts to walk around the grotto to make sure that the area it's safe before making a shelter for itself, as it inspects the grotto it starts taking in the details of the surrounding environment.
Within the grotto is a large pond placed in the middle where a silver fish with small horns could be seen swimming around in the clear water, vines could be seen hanging from the stony walls, coupled with moss growing in the crevices, the grotto was rather large as trees could be found inside it, ancient and tall, with leaves the same strength as steel. Strangely enough there was no sign of any large predatory magical animals or even smaller ones, just brightly colored insects that inhabit the grotto and the worms in the soil, it was a small secluded world.
Taking in the scenery, the first thought of its own that crosses the Taotie's mind is to consume and devour it all. As it strolls around and notices the worms in the soil squirming and creating pockets within it, it catches its attention and the hunger that was sated by the egg shells begins to return.
The mouth of this creature was relatively hidden but when opened can expand to thrice or four times the size of it's own body and has the ability to exert a suction power, and within that mouth lies a tongue that has the ability to strike and grab, similar to a coiling snake. The teeth of a Taotie, are similar to grinders made of adamantium and able to break down nay material that enter it's mouth, but as of the moment they are relatively short and can not be used in a combative type manner.
Staring at the worms the mouth slowly begins to crack open and a pink flash can be seen it's tongue strikes the worms one by one. The worms in the soil were being sucked up into its stomach, as it was devouring the worms the young beast begins to notice it's compatibility with the earth around it starts to go up and starts to ferociously eat all the worms in its range to see where this ability would go.
