Charles' POV
I put her in my car after we left the bar and she instantly fell asleep. It was too late and she lived too far away, while my house was just around the block.
I carried her up to my place and left her on the couch before I went to my room to take a shower. The smell of booze was stuck on my clothes and I couldn't stand it any longer.
It was not very nice of me to leave her on the couch, but I wasn't going to let her sleep on my bed. We're not that close yet.
I went inside my room, getting ready to shower, but before I could, she had followed me into the room.
She started stripping her clothes off. It was as if she didn't realize there was someone else in the room.
I had to hold onto my urge of wanting to help her take it off quicker. I felt my body lit up as I restrained myself from putting her on the bed.
She looked amazing, basking in the bright moonlight. She had always worn clothes that hid her figure. I was glad she did that.
I can't do this. She helpless in this situation. Be a gentleman.
I hurriedly took off my shirt and put it on her.
"What are you doing?" She slurred.
"Putting a shirt on you. You're nearly naked."
"Oh. You're naked though."
"Just sleep," I said.
She then made her way to the bed crawled under the covers, "do you want to sleep with me? There's soooo much space."
I held back the temptation of just laying down next to her and didn't reply. After a few minutes of tossing and turning, she finally fell asleep.
I took my shower and went to sleep in the guest bedroom.
~~~~~
I told her everything that happened, but I left out all the details that needed to be left out. She didn't need to know that.
"How are you going to repay me?"
"Wait. Pay you back for what?" She asked, alarmed.
"I had to pay for your drinks and your makeup ruined my pillows, sheets, and shirt. "
"Oh. You should've left me on the street, then I wouldn't have ruined your sheets, shirt, and your bed. And I wouldn't have to owe you anything."
"You wanted to get taken advantage of?"
"I had a better chance of getting raped by you than anyone."
"My bad. I'll leave you to it the next time if I were to see you like that."
"There won't be a next time!"
"How can you be so sure? You don't even have a place to live." I said. She looked surprised as I said it.
"How'd you know?"
"I found out by accident. You told me in the car last night."
"Damn it. Forget what you've heard. It's a lie."
"You've just confirmed it. You don't need to find a place to stay, I know a cheap place with a really good view. It comes with a side job and good benefits too."
"Really?" Ellery asked as if she doesn't really trust me. "The next thing you're going to say is it's your place."
"Correct. I already brought all the essential things here and sold the ones that weren't. Basically everything, except some photo albums my assistants found. I thought you might've wanted to keep it. You made a couple hundred from that, so that can be applied to your first month of rent. I have all the things you need here, like a bed and other furniture."
"I don't get it."
"You're moving in here and your new job is to be my personal chef."
I don't know why I said and did this, but it would have bothered me if she went anywhere else.
