Within a days walk, John was approaching the demon city of Neet. He could see tall buildings with spires overreaching the wall around the city. "This place is massive!" John stated surprised. "Yes, this is one of the first cities started by the demons." Doren explained. These spires were at least 80 feet tall and was faded black with what looked like jagged spears at the top. "Who's in charge of this city?" John asked. "Whoever is strongest inside." Doren stated. "So even politics are determined by strength?" John asked. "Everything is by strength." answered Doren. The closer John got to the gates, he could start to make out more and more humanoid figures guarding it. He began sensing for life essence and could feel 6 guards. "How should I approach this?" John asked. "You still have to ask?" Doren replied. "I don't want to start a war with the demons and humans." John explained. "Approach this with strength." Doren explained. "Very well." John stated as he began drawing his sword. The guards were wearing practically nothing but a loincloth and the scabbard to their jagged swords.
"Oh, what's this? A human with a sword, does it wish to die? He looks so young and weak!" one of the demon guards stated followed by a laughter. "Come at me if you want to die." John stated sternly. "Oh, he's got some guts. Let's see what they look like." the guard snapped as he began charging John. John saw through this demon's stab, with a quick side step, the stab went right beside him. In one motion, John swiped his sword up, severing the guards arms in one swing. "AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH! YOU BASTARD! I'LL KILL YOU!" The guard yelled in pain, falling to his knees. "Anyone else want a turn? He got off easy." John said glaring at the other 5 guards. They began looking at each other and one of them finally spoke up. "What do you want?" "I'm here to visit the city for wares." John stated still glaring. "Wares huh? You have high hopes if you think you're getting past us." the guard snapped as he quickly dashed towards John. The jagged blade was swinging for John's throat. John quickly ducked making the blade just miss the top of his head, if the blade was sharpened instead of jagged it would've cut some of his hair. John then in a single motion severed the guards foot. "Come again, I missed one." John said sarcastically. The guard couldn't stand but sat there looking at John in disbelief. The other 3 guards circled John. "Who are you!?" They demanded. "Oh you don't recognize me?" John snapped quickly. "We know of no humans that could possess this strength!" They stated adamantly. "Maybe this will help." John said looking at them through his blood red glowing eyes. "Master Doren!" they all exclaimed. "We are sorry to impede your passage, we didn't recognize you, master!" They all pleaded while sheathing their swords and bowing. "I'll let you keep your heads this time, but try to stand against me again and you'll quickly find it separated from your bodies." John stated coldly. "Thank you for the mercy, master." They said in unison.
John sheathed his sword as he walked through the gates. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. A whole city of faded black and glowing red eyes everywhere, the further he adventured inside the more amazed John was. He began seeing shops selling anything and everything. John walked into a shop with daggers on display. John quickly picked up one of the daggers, feeling the edge and noticed it had a slight edge. "Can I help you?" John heard in a female human voice. "Are you in charge of this place?" John asked. "I am, until my master returns." The female stated. As John began looking at her he noticed she was wearing essentially dirty rags, barely covering her body. "When will your master return?" John demanded. "He should be back by nightfall tonight." she answered quickly. "May I have your name?" John asked. "We slaves aren't given a name, just a brand." She stated as she showed a demonic insignia branded onto her right forearm. "Very well. I shall return then." John stated as he left. John began walking around the town, questioning anyone he could find that would talk to him. "John, what are you planning?" Doren asked. "I'm saving these slaves." John stated. "How are you planning to do that? They have been around since the city was built." Doren asked. "Just leave it to me, Doren." John stated. He made his way to the castle in the middle of town, unlike other buildings this one was pure black, not faded. John made his way inside flashing Doren's eyes. No one would attempt to stop him, just let him through.
"General Doren, what brings you to my city?" the demon king stated. "I came to check on the city and I must say, I'm not satisfied with this place." John stated. "This city remained the same and untouched since you disappeared, General. What needs to be fixed?" the demon king asked. "First things first. The human's are not to be slaves to us. They are to be released." John demanded. "You come to my city and make such demands, you cannot demand something when you're doing the same thing." the king stated. "This human is not my slave, he's not branded to me. This human is in control of my powers as payment for allowing me to hide within him." John explained. "Doren, you've fallen. You used to despise the humans for their simple minded abilities and nature. Now you're becoming one." the king exclaimed. "Careful who you speak to like that, king. You will free the humans from this town or I will dethrone you and do it myself." John threatened. "You're not as strong as you used to be, Doren. You're now bound by the human's capabilities. My guards could take you out without breaking a sweat." the king responded. "Care to test that theory, King Tormen." John stated questioningly. "GUARDS! Remove this thing from my castle." Tormen demanded. The guards began approaching John. "Ready Doren?" John asked. "Ready for what?" Doren asked. "I'm gonna let you loose for a few. Do what you want, no restriction from me." John stated. "I'm flattered that you're willing to let me take control, but John, this isn't my fight." Doren exclaimed. "Fine, but if I ruin the demon hierarchy, it's on you." John stated. "Do what you must." said Doren. The guards still approaching John, John made a dash for between them. The guards quickly caught John by the shoulders and began pushing him back. John hopped backwards out of their grips and began rushing as fast as he can. In one swoop the guard's head was in the air. Confused the other guard glanced over to John and all he could see was blood running down John's blade that was hidden behind his leg. "Demons cannot move that fast!" Tormen declared. "That's where you're correct, demons can't, but a demon/human hybrid can." John stated. "Do you wish to continue or do you want to call it a day?" John asked. "You think you can intimidate me by killing one guard!" Tormen exclaimed. In a flash, John was standing behind the throne with his sword at Tormen's throat. "Of course not, King. I can however show you what that one guard felt in a flash." John whispered into his ear. "Doren, you win, please withdraw your blade." the king pleaded. "Next time you go against my wishes king, you'll find yourself at the bottom of the food chain with no way to climb up." John stated. "I understand, General. From this day forward I shall run this city to your wishes." Tormen pleaded. "You shall, however I will need someone here I can trust." John stated. "Who do you have in mind?" the king questioned. "Summon Aluzhar immediately." John demanded. "Aluzhar? General, he's already at the bottom of the food chain." Tormen exclaimed. "That may be true, but now he's higher up than you. Now summon him immediately." John demanded. "Very well General." said Tormen as he waved to his guard.
Within a few minutes the guard came in guiding Aluzhar by his arm. "I didn't do anything!" Aluzhar's claiming confusingly. Aluzhar looks up and sees John. "Master!" he yelled as he bowed. "Aluzhar, rise. I have a task for you." John stated. "Anything master, just name it." he pleaded. "You'll be stuck here to the king, you'll be his new advisor and you'll supply me with constant updates. I will give you commands to pass to the king. If he doesn't follow my words through you, then I will come back. No one wants me to come back." John explained glancing at the king. "Yes master, I'd be honored." Aluzhar said thankfully. "Meet me at that cave every 2 days, if you don't show, this city will feel my wrath. If you show up damaged, this city will feel my wrath and if you are followed, this city will feel my wrath. Understand Tormen?" John explained. "Yes general, we understand completely." Tormen exclaimed. "Oh and Aluzhar, if they attempt to bribe you or try to convince you to give me false information. I will exterminate everyone in this city. If you give me false information, I will devour your soul. If you try to take over control of this city from me, I will devour your soul. Understand?" John threatened. "Of course, Master." Aluzhar stated.
"Now to finish things, king. Free the humans." John demanded. "It shall be done general." Tormen insured. "No, you misunderstand, bring them here and free them now. The slaves are leaving with me." John demanded. "Guard, you heard him. Bring every slave here from the city." Tormen ordered. "Did you forget the castle too?" John asked. "Of course not general. Guard, bring them from the city and here as well." Tormen ordered. Within a sun cycle, every human slave was in the castle under John's protection. "General, how do we keep everything running without slaves?" Tormen asked. "Simple, offer up services or goods for someone to do the job. Start an economy where everything can be purchased. Services and goods alike." John explained. "We will try this idea." Tormen claimed. "You will and Aluzhar here will inform me. If you withhold any information from him, I will return." John threatened. "Understand general." Tormen stated. "Then we will be taking our leave here." John stated. John and all the human slaves left the castle, heading for the gate. Once he reached the gate the guards were watching as he was leaving with all the humans in the town.
"Okay everyone, now that we are away from the city, I have options for you. You can either travel on your own to make your own life in a random human village or you could follow me to my village and live there under my protection. Either choice you make, I will remove your brands one at a time." John explained. The group of peoples faces lit up as they haven't known freedom for so long. "Once we hit the tree line over there, I will begin removing your brands. If you want to leave, don't try running in the night. I will escort you to where you want to go." John said as he was pointing to the forest. They all followed him into the forest and began seeing the bright light and noticed their brands were healing with no marks left behind on their skin. They were all amazed and kept asking, "Who are you?". John would always answer the same, "Someone who will protect you." They all followed John for what seemed like forever until they reached his village.
