The day went by smoothly for Shi Yen. But to her new staff, she was a work-demon.
Shi Yen had looked over most of the daily operations. She had introduced herself to the senior managers of every department. She didn't flaunt the fact that she was a Shi; she wanted to win their respect through her competence, not buying it with her surname. She coordinated department activities and compiled performance reports.
When she finished, she walked across the street, heading over to Yuan Bank's main office. She swiped her all-access card inside, requesting one of the clerks to escort her to Yuan Shun's office. When they arrived at the front door, the clerk knocked and opened the door.
"Mr. Yuan. Miss Shi would like to see you," she said.
A deep voice resonated within. "Allow her in," Yuan Shun said.
The clerk nodded, turning to Shi Yen, letting her pass. The clerk then dismissed herself, and Shi Yen went inside, shutting the door behind her.
