Garcis and Siverra cautiously made their way deeper into the forest, their eyes scanning the dense underbrush for any signs of danger. Occasionally, they would come across a monster lurking in the shadows, but they were skilled fighters and were able to take them down quickly.
Their journey was fraught with peril, but nothing could have prepared them for the battle they faced with the Inferno Wolf. Its fur was ablaze with flames that licked hungrily at the surrounding trees, and its eyes glowed with an otherworldly fire. The fight was long and grueling, and for a moment it seemed as though they might not make it out alive. But with a final blow from Garcis' sword, the beast fell to the ground, its body smoldering and lifeless.
As they caught their breath, Garcis spoke up. "We need to be more careful. I didn't expect to encounter monsters like that in a forest. It must have something to do with the Mana Leakage."
Siverra nodded in agreement. "I may not know much, but I do know that fire and forests don't mix well."
They quickly set up camp, making sure to position themselves near some trees for cover. Garcis pulled out a backpack and began to set up a tent while Siverra watched on.
"I could have just carried that stuff in my pocket dimension," Siverra commented, a hint of confusion in his voice. "And where did you even get that backpack? I don't remember seeing you grab it."
Garcis sighed. "It doesn't matter. Can you just help me with this?"
Siverra rolled his eyes but complied, feeling a bit spoiled from his time as a king.
As the night wore on, the two of them talked about the world and their plans for the future. They eventually settled down to rest, their tent providing a sense of safety in the midst of the dangerous forest.
But their peace was short-lived. As they slept, the trees around them suddenly came to life, their roots lifting the tent and its occupants off the ground and carrying them away.
When they finally came to a stop, the two men were disoriented and confused. "Are we being attacked?" Siverra whispered, his heart racing.
Garcis shook his head. "No, if we were being attacked, we'd already be dead. We were asleep, remember?"
Their conversation was interrupted by a deep, ominous voice that seemed to come from all around them. "We have brought you two to the Ancient Ones. We are under attack and cannot leave the forest. We ask for your help in preserving our land."
Siverra and Garcis exchanged a look, unsure of what to do. "Are you Treants?" Garcis asked tentatively.
"Yes, wise one. You know of us?" the voice replied.
Garcis couldn't help but smirk. "Yes, from my god."
Siverra, still a bit lost, followed Garcis as they made their way deeper into the forest, led by the Treants. They eventually arrived at a clearing, where a pair of gloves lay on the ground. The gloves were dark and covered in black flames, but they didn't seem to harm the surrounding nature in any way.
The Treants spoke again, their voices low and urgent. "Slay the beast. It is leaking the Mana from the Heart. If you do so, I will gift you these Void Flame Gloves."
Garcis was stunned. "Void Flame Gloves... that's a relic! It was created by one of the Gods of Armor... in it is imbued with the energy of a Void Phoenix's First Kin! If you are able to put this sentient armor under your control, you'd be able to destroy continents with it!" Garcis was in utter shock and Siverra's heart skipped a beat. Instantly, the two of them both yearned for it, but only one of them could get it. Who would?
