Siverra leaned in close to Ran, his voice low and earnest as he explained the latest advancements he and his Crocoplants had made. The two stood in the center of the bustling courtyard, surrounded by the steady hum of cultivators going about their daily business. Siverra's eyes glimmered with excitement as he spoke, but he carefully omitted one crucial detail. He didn't mention the fact that he was a monster. Ran listened intently, his expression growing more incredulous with each passing moment.
"I'm not sure how the tiers work on this world," he said at last, "but the title of World Ending sounds insane!" Despite his shock, Ran's respect for Siverra had doubled in that moment.
Just then, Jeran came running up to them, his eyes bright with excitement. "The Enchantment! It's done..." he gasped, his words tumbling out in a rush. Siverra's face lit up with pleasure, and Jeran hurried off to retrieve his robe.
When he produced the item, Siverra's eyes widened in amazement. The robe was now a deep black, with a tough, sturdy material on the outside and a soft, comfortable lining within. A permanent gold lining shone intermittently, casting an otherworldly glow over the fabric.
"It looks amazing... What are the effects?" Siverra asked, still reeling from the sight of the enchantment.
Jeran beamed with pride as he explained the robe's various powers. "It has high elemental resistance of all kinds, it stops all piercing attacks, and it also increases the wearer's strength and mana output."
Siverra was stunned. If Jeran was this skilled at making enchantments, he wondered what other abilities the young man possessed. Little did he know, Jeran was feeling nervous himself. He had used up 85% of the mana injected into the enchantment, and it had ended in failure. This was the remaining 15% that had actually worked.
"I have brought you some rare materials for an array!" Siverra declared, interrupting Jeran's thoughts.
Jeran's eyes lit up with excitement. Arrays were what he excelled at, and he already had some rare materials in mind to experiment with. Siverra began listing off a litany of strange, ancient-sounding objects, and Jeran's mouth practically watered at the possibilities.
"This is the Feather of a Phoenix, here's the Obelisk of the Ancients, here's the Orb of Undying..." Siverra continued, his voice trailing off as Jeran eagerly took the items from his outstretched hands.
"I will take these with me to research a powerful array I can create with these objects!" Jeran exclaimed, his excitement palpable as he scampered off to his room.
Siverra was thrilled. He now trusted and respected the Sect Leader even more, knowing that he had lent him his most gifted disciple. "Ran, gather the cultivators together and find out how many of them are willing to become enchanters and array masters," he instructed, tossing a book at him with a flick of his wrist. The book was titled "Array and Enchanting Basics by Jeran."
As Ran caught the book, Siverra strode off to his own room, his mind already buzzing with plans. He was determined to succeed, no matter what obstacles lay ahead.
