Chapter 72 - Date Him...

Charmaine glanced at the woman holding the unconscious Jun Ji's hand. Liam and Laura stepped out for a while and Charmaine was left with Bianca inside the room. "Laura told me about Jun's condition. How are you holding on?" Charmaine asked.

"This is not about me, is it?... it's about him." she replied looking at Jun in front of her. "I'll trade anything just to help him recover."

Charmaine shook her head. She can see so much of herself in Bianca. "It's about you too. You're taking care of someone who doesn't care about you. If he wakes up and gets better, what if he just throw you away? What if he tells you he doesn't have any use of you anymore?"

Bianca closed her eyes, her hands tremble. It's true. Jun might not even want her to be there for him. He wanted someone else... "It doesn't matter. If he doesn't need me anymore, then I'll leave. But as long as he needs me, I'll remain by his side."

Charmaine nodded. Yes. She's not the only love's slave in the world. It feels sad to see someone enduring a loveless relationship. The other Xiaomin, Laura and Bianca. They all deserve to be loved.

Unknown to both women, another person was listening to their chat. He was lying there wondering what would happen to him afterwards. Bianca said she'll remain as long as she's needed, but how true is that? Everyone leaves. No one stayed for him. His mother, Jienna, they all left him. But he wouldn't Bianca if she decides to go. He hated Leo for being cruel to women, but he did the same to Bianca without realizing it.

"Look... I'm thankful for last night but... you can't just spread rumors about us like that." Laura told the doctor. A while ago, she pulled Liam to a quiet corner to have a private conversation, but the man just kept looking at her hasn't uttered a word since they came out. A carefree smile was on his face. Is he really a doctor? He looked more like a lighthearted generation heir of some rich family than a surgeon!

"Rumors? You're the one who first announce our relationship to the public." Liam refuted. "Besides, after what happened last night, don't you think we should date already? You can't just ditch me like that. Don't make the 'i'm sorry but I was drunk' excuse just to run away from your responsibilities! I'm a well-respected person after all. I care for my reputation." Liam stated.

Laura's expression changed to incredulity after hearing Liam's words. What did she just hear? Did a grown up man just ask her to take responsibility for him? "We're two consenting adults. Can't you just leave it as it is? I don't mind! Why would you?" she answered. She can't believe someone was playing her like this.

"You're that kind of person? Really?" Liam asked with a frown. "You'll just dump me when you don't need me anymore?"

Laura held her forehead. That didn't sound right. Why is it that she -a woman, was being labeled as a jerk here? The reversed role Liam was portraying made her head hurt. "I'm sorry but I can't date you." she insisted. "I don't want to date another doctor."

Liam raised his brows. So her ex was a doctor, too? "Alright. Then I'll quit this profession this very instant!" Liam declared. He was just kidding, but since he's enjoying watching Laura's cute expressions, he's willing to take this game to a higher level.

Laura's eyes widened at his answer. "You're kidding! You can't quit! You're my brother's doctor!" she exclaimed.

Liam shrugged his shoulders and looked away like he didn't care. He kept mum and just stood there unmoving. It was too annoying! "Okay! I'll think about it!" Laura replied after a while of silence. "I'll seriously consider dating you, alright?" she helplessly stated. He's a bit annoying but Liam is still undeniably handsome. He doesn't look like the serious type so maybe he was just finding some way to entertain himself and he happened to meet her? Anyway, dating is fun, too. She'll need a few things to keep her occupied these day, right? Perhaps it's not a bad idea to date him... just for fun.

"Okay. That's good enough for me. Shall we head back inside?" he asked.

"Don't you have to do your rounds? You've been here for a while." Laura noticed.

"Don't have any. I'm only here for Jun Ji. Mr. Ji Chen personally invited me to treat your brother." he explained.

Laura was stunned. Her grandfather hired Liam's service to help Jun Ji? Her grandpa wasn't after all. But how good was this Liam West actually, that her grandfather personally went to the US just to ask for his service? He must have thought highly of him, but also he must have wanted to help Jun so badly that he took the matters to his own hands. If only Jun knows...

Inside a department store, a man in a blue suit was looking around when he suddenly heard his phone ringing. He quickly took out his phone from inside his jacket and picked up the call. It's been a while since he last received a call from this person. He wondered what he needs from him this time.

"Larson... Where are you?", a man's voice resounded against his ears. His tone full of confidence and authority.

"I'm shopping with my new girlfriend! What's up?" he asked. He knew this person was in trouble again. He only finds him whenever he gets into trouble with the women surrounding him. What a troublesome guy!

"I need your help with someone. The usual." the caller replied.

Larson chuckled. "My dear bro... Who is it again this time? You should just settle down, Leo. So you won't need me to fend off those women for you." Larson jested. How many times have Leo sought his help for this kind of problem? Doesn't he get tired of it?

"This is different. You're going to take care of a guy." -When Leo was saying that, Larson just happened to bump into someone and he got distracted. He failed to hear Leo's word clearly. He just stared at the person who bumped into him and he quickly apologised. "I'm sorry. It's my fault for not looking." he told the person.

That person nodded and then walked away. Larson was left speechless and couldn't help but follow him with his stares. That guy who was wearing brown jacket and casual jeans... who was that person? Something about him felt different just now...

"Larson... hello Larson, are you still there?" Leo uttered from the other end of the line. Larson heard him and lifted his phone again next to his ear.

"I'm still here. What were you saying again?" she asked while still looking at the direction where the person who bumped into him went...
