Chapter 70 - That Morning

Laura tried to get up but she suddenly became dizzy. Steadying herself, she slowly remembered what happened last night. Her argument with Ivan, her impulsive decision to drag an innocent bystander along with her to a bar and him taking her drunk a** to this hotel. What was she thinking? Oh... she wasn't thinking at all. Especially when she did all those stupid things last night. By stupid things, she meant....

"I think you'll be alright now. I'll put your purse in this table." she remembered the man telling her after helping her lay in bed. "I'm heading out first." he added before turning around to leave.

Laura didn't allow her to go, though. She quickly got up and grabbed his wrist. "You're planning to leave me here? All alone? You sure?" she asked with her pleading eyes.

Liam's eyes danced in amusement as he glanced at her. "Are you asking me to sleep with you?" he uttered.

Laura lowered her eyes but didn't let his hand go. "No... I'm not attractive enough am I? I'm very aware of that."

Liam stared at her for a while before leaning closer. "Well, I'm not the kind to disappoint a girl so...." he mumbled before getting on the bed and pinning Laura beneath him. ".....let's enjoy the night." he added before covering her lips with his.

Laura held her forehead. That dizzying kiss and the feelings of his hands groping her body was the last thing Laura could remember. She can't believe provoked a man to sleep with her! Well... it's not her intention, but she allowed it to happen!

Completely disappointed with herself, Laura glanced at the bathroom door. Liam must be in there just to shower and he would be out any minute. She quickly climbed out of the bed and searched around for her clothes. She saw them neatly folded over the table so she took her dress and wore it quickly. However, when she grabbed her purse from the table, she remembered something. She took out a few bills from her purse and left it there before dashing out of the hotel room.

When Liam finished his shower, he found the room empty. He walked around to grab his clothes on the table and there he found a note. "Thanks for the night. You're great. I had fun." it says. Underneath it was a few paper bills that sums up to Β£500. Liam raised his eyebrows when he saw the cash. 500 pounds for a night? What does that woman takes him for?

Jun Ji slowly opened his eyes. There it goes again. He woke up in the middle of darkness again. With his body aching and his legs numb, it felt like he was buried somewhere. There was nothing to hear but some ticking noise. Won't someone come to explain what was happening to him? Did he already die? Is this hell? He might had just missed his funeral.

Jun Ji bitterly laughed at the thought. With his worthless life, what did he lose? But something felt different than before. Something warm clung to his left hand. When he chuckled a while ago, it's grip tightened. What was it?

"You're awake! How are you feeling? Where does it hurt?" a female voice suddenly echoed amidst the quiet room. Who's voice was that? "Can you hear me? It's me, Bianca. I'm right here for you."

Bianca. Somewhere inside his chest, there was this sudden pain. It's as if a dagger was piercing through his heart. Something between his thorax and his throat felt inflamed. Was it because of the accident? It must be. The big lump burrowing inside his ribcage makes him want to cry. Bianca... why?

Jun Ji didn't say anything. It must be a dream that someone was looking after him. He closed his eyes and refused to acknowledge what he was hearing and what he couldn't see. He must still be sleeping because if this is reality, he didn't want to wake up to it anymore.

Charmaine woke up late that next morning. Her headache and nausea was so bad she didn't want to get up although it's already nine in the morning. She pulled the blanket over her head and continued to lay underneath the sheets. She wondered why her hangover was so bad even though her

A moment later, Charmaine heard a few footsteps approaching her bed. When it stopped, Charmaine was startled when her blanket flew away from her grasp. "Get up and drink this soup." Leo commanded. His right hand was on his waist while the left one holds a tray. "Come on! This is good for your hangover."

Charmaine slowly got up. Leo was obviously being nice to her so why does he have to shout? It just worsen her headache.

The man watched as Charmaine sat on the edge of the bed, reached for the bowl in his hand and finished the soup in one go. He likes it when his little wife is being obedient! "Good girl. You shouldn't be drinking alcoholic beverages anymore. It makes you weird." he remarked.

Charmaine looked at Leo's face with questioning eyes. "What did I do?"

Leo shrugged his shoulders. "You say some weird stuffs, mention about imaginary people and events.... and condemn me for imaginary crimes." It happened before too when they were in Paris. He wondered why is that. When she said she was breaking, he figured someone must have broken her heart in the past and she takes it out on him whenever she gets drunk. "Anyway, I want to tell you I won't stop you from meeting your friend anymore... But you need to tell me first." Leo stated.

Charmaine stared at her husband. Disbelief was written all over her face. Did the vinegar king of hell just relented? How unusual...

"Uhm... why aren't you at work?" Charmaine suddenly remembered. Leo usually goes to work early so why is he still home?

"I was initially waiting for you to wake up... but it looks like you're planning to sleep all day." he replied. "Don't worry. I'm heading to work now."

He waited for her to wake up because he wanted to give her the hangover soup? Or is it just he wanted to sort things out between them? She didn't ask him though. She just watched as he walked away with her empty bowl. She watched as he walked towards the door and twist the door handle of their bedroom door.... Then he froze.

"What is it?" Charmaine asked with her curious eyes. She stood up to check what was making Leo stand in the doorway like a statue and even she paused at the sight of the woman standing there.

"Leo... please don't throw me out... I promise I won't bother you anymore. I just don't want to go home to Bonn." Adele was there pleading. She looked pitiful with her pale face, bare of make up and all. She looked haggard and distressed. "Please? The thruth is... I'm running away from my abusive ex-boyfriend.... You can't send me back or he'll kill me!"

Leo glanced at Charmaine behind her as if asking her what to do. Was he expecting her to let Adele stay?
