Chapter 5 - Inpending Mortality

The world seemed to wither away until all that was left was his love for her and her love for him. They looked at each other with endearment and joy.

Syn finally tells her these words:

"All I blanked out for was you, the first time we met, and well the first time we went on a date", he explained.

They were simple words, but they were the words she wanted to hear all the same. It seemed so crazy that such a simple phrase as this could make her forget his unwillingness to answer her, but he did.

The way she looked at it is that if they've got the things of a marriage that lasted over the years then she surely could forgive that. It was sweet and refreshing for her to hear.

The anger that she spoke with emaciated away, the very way that she walked changed. Then she started to soften up and did not want to choke him anymore.

"Syn, I love you, but, have you had those a lot lately? You know, Flashbacks?" she questions him.

"Deb, I know that you are a doctor, but I am perfectly fine," He assures.

Debby sighs, "Oh really, where are the tools you were supposed to be getting? I think that was your fourth time going to that start and you still don't have everything."

Syn Rya says, "Honey, I realize that but something amazing happened to me, and well I just had to come home and kiss my lovely wife."

"Oh really, well what happened to you?" his wife asks him with a smirk.

"Okay, get this. I was leaving the store for the fourth time today, as you so eloquently put it. The storm started to pick up even more. So naturally, I reached for the handle of the store door and I was struck by lightning. In a split second, I was out of my mind thinking. I would never see little Enlil or Ben, but most all I was worried about insurance-" He illustrates.

"Oh wow! Insurance all y'all men think of is your money and those darn cars" She says feeling underappreciated.

"No, you don't understand. I wanted to make sure that you, the most important person in my world, would be so highly cared for that the Queen of England would be jealous" he expresses.

"Awww, You know every day you surprise me more and more with how sweet you can be?" She says finding it refreshing that he could be as sweet as he was the day he first asked her out.

"Eh, I do what I can." Then he turns up the music and starts dancing.

Then he sings. " Turn your lights down low"

Together they sing and dance in perfect harmony.

"Oh, our song," She says as she picks up the controller. "How is it that you know me so well." She sighs as the music subsides. "You know you've got me right."

"And you've got me. You've had me since I can remember and you always will." He expresses pulling her to him as he sits on the couch and sits her on his lap.

"Hmm, So I suppose I should finish. There I am thinking I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die and leave you alone with no descendants. What a horrible husband I would be to leave you alone like that?" He illustrates.

Debby interrupts. "Where did you learn to talk so glib? We both know that if you died on me I would resurrect you. Never think of leaving me, okay?" After stating this she thought back to what he had said again. "Wait, you were struck by lightning?"

She began gripping his arms and examining him closely worried and convinced she was being pranked.

"Yes, zapped like a bug in an electric fly trap. Alas, a stranger walks by me and touches my chest. Not knowing who this random person was but as soon as that person touched me, I. Well, I became short of breath and bright blue lights started to pirouette around me like flakes of hope and love. That is when it happened! It lifted me into the air with quickness, and I started to feel different, less dead, and well young again." He stands picking her up and lifting her over and over again.

He was reinvigorated.
