"I'd rather have you instead."
My cheeks burned as I backed away. And judging from the shit eating grin Minseok was giving me, it didn't go unnoticed.
Still, I couldn't stop the small grin from breaking out. I shook my head to clear it.
I moved back and noticed Leah patting the seat next to her, which happened to be directly in front of Jongin.
The moment I settled down, Mrs Kim immediately scooted over to sit on my other side and both her and Leah started bombarding me with questions.
It started small, like what was my favourite colour and what are my hobbies.
And then Leah's question caught me off guard.
"Do you like Jongin?"
My reaction to it was amusing to say the least.
My cheeks burned and my eyes darted towards the said male, checking to see if he noticed, and immediately regretted it.
His mischievous brown eyes were set on me as if enjoying my reaction and my breath left me a quiet 'whoosh' as I saw the smirk.
Crap, he heard us didn't he.
I was relieved when he turned his gaze away when my uncle asked him something.
"well?" Leah seemed to be enjoying this wayyy too much.
"He's.. Fine?" I said rather awkwardly.
"Oh so he's fine huh?" she said in turn making my face heat up.
I buried my head in my hands. But couldn't help but mentally agree.
I slowly looked up from in between my fingers and immediately wished I hadn't.
Jongin was back to looking at me and the smirk he had on previously, slowly turned into a sly grin. (Seriously though does he never stop. If he doesn't, my heart will.)
I squeaked when he caught me sneaking a look through my fingers and covered them again.
We all chatted for a bit, with Leah and Mrs Kim (seriously?I thought you were on my side!) teasing me and Jongin making my heart race by staring at me.
"Okay now. Y/n do you like Jongin? I mean.. Yes you both can go on a few dates to see if you really do like each other. Because marriage is a very serious and important part of your life. So it would be better if you are honest with yourself and your feelings." Mrs Kim looked at me seriously, though the soft smile on her face was comforting.
I looked down, ears and cheeks going red as I nimbly nodded, muttering a small 'yes'.
"What was that? I don't think anyone heard you?" Minseok, I swear to gOD-
I glared at him, playfully. And his response made me giggle.
He stuck his tongue out at me.
And I did the same, right back at him.
I then unconsciously looked over at Jongin to see he was looking at his brother and I's exchange with a fond smile.
My heart stuttered seeing his expression. It looked like he adored his brother more than anything else in the world.
It was the kind of look a little brother would give to his older brother. Like as if the older brother is basically everything in the his life. Like he was his hero. His guardian. And seeing as to how Jongin doesn't have a father... Its honestly heart-meltingly sad.
Okay moving on before I turn into mush.
"Next.. Jongin? What do you say? Do you like Y/n?" Mrs Kim then shifted her eyes to her son, her expression one of warmth and love.
Seriously this lady right here was a bundle of happiness. I didn't know her all that well but I already liked her.
But my attention soon shifted, resting on the male opposite to me.
I was suddenly a nervous wreck. The butterflies were running wild in my stomach. I swallowed trying not to show my nerves.
I guess it didn't work all that well because Leah placed her hand in mine and squeezed it slightly, the act oddly comforting.
But when I looked into his eyes all nerves went right out of the window.
"Yes, I do."
