"I did marry you for money, but that was so I can save my brother not to leech on you," Luna corrected him. She didn't think she had choices back then, but she would rather be trapped on Hero's deal than to accept Sienna Jiang's help.
"That inheritance… it is yours. Are you really that soft-hearted, Luna? Didn't you realize that all of these happened because you were too kind and easy to be fooled? Say, have the thought crossed on your mind that even if you give up your rights and inheritance from the Jiang family, how sure are you that they wouldn't come back for more?" Her husband bombarded her with questions.
Luna fell back on her seat, feeling her strength leaving her body. However, Hero rose to his feet, hooked his arm under her knees, and lifted her up. She was startled by his sudden action but nevertheless wrapped her arms around his neck.
Burying her face on his shoulder, she smelled his clean scent that somehow calmed her.
