Seeing Addie settle down I shrugged it off before stretching and climbing out of Ellies shirt. I hadn't gotten out in time when the lord bolted in but after that I decided maybe I shouldn't leave at all. Best to not be spotted. Climbing up towards the window and looking out I see the mist covering the fort and lay down as I push open the window lightly putting a crack in it and laying down to meditate as I pull the mist in the entire fort away leaving a small section in front of the lords manor as I did say the mist may heal people lets see if anyone needs healing. I need to get my healing skill up after all. While it's only really a stimulant and a regen boost for everyone but me it's very useful for me. So if I can boost the level on the little humans or maybe reach the next stage I might be able to healing myself at a cheaper price as I am wasting a large amount of my mist healing back the damage while I train rather then using it to boost my bodies strength. After clearing out the fort I check on the other two places I've left my mist behind. The ship and the dude who had run away. I don't really have an opinion of the guy so I didn't attack him but I did lie to the lord and Anna might blow that secret so I thought of using this as a apology gift. Best not to give humans a reason to hate on monsters. I mean even after saving that dude and Anna from almost immanent death they still suspected me of something. So best to be careful. Now that I think about it... I never lied to him but I did participate in the lie. As without the mist making Ellie seem all mysterious they probably would have taken her less serious. Granted just as high of a chance of people trying to kill her if it had worked out any differently as she appeared to be controlling the same mist that was invading. We really came up with a risky plan... Well worked out fine whatever.
The next morning Ellie woke to find Addie and me sitting on the window seal looking out over the now bustling town like fort. Soon after we heard a knocking. With a sleepy expression Ellie walks over to me and forces me down her shirt as I was going to open the door... I mean we don't necessarily need to do that now... But whatever comfy. Also boobs? Idk creepy. After the door opens up Anna and Nathon walk in. Ellie smiles at them. "Anna how'd we do?" hearing her happy remark Anna made a bitter smile before shaking her head and looking at her feat. "Anna? What happened?" Poking my little head out seeing there weren't any strangers I look at her face and immediately realize what happened... We probably failed... With a sigh Anna quickly confirms our question with an invite. "I'd like you guys to come to my fathers funeral."
Ellie took a second to realize what the invite met while the room remained silent Addie wore a mask still so no clue what's going on there but Ellies face quickly fell. "Wha... What happened? Didn't we save him?" Hearing the question Anna sighed and walked over before falling into a nearby chair blank faced. "We did. However we were to late even so. When we went into the manor last night after the ghost claw directed me forward the whole place was silent and in the dining room I found my unconscious step mom lying half naked in a pool of blood. Her stomach had been cut open and the unborn child ripped out. My father had been stabbed and bled out next to her." Wow... Melodramatic... Anna took a second before continuing. "We rushed to heal her but she's still not to well she regained consciousness this morning but she's in shock. All we managed to get was my uncle attacked and force himself on her while claiming he had already killed of my father she claimed that she no longer felt anything for him and loved my father and that they would have a child together but that only upset my uncle more." Hmm... Makes sense I guess. "That's when she was knocked out I assume that my uncle tried to get rid of the baby without losing her. Then my father came in and tried to kill him but was killed instead."
A few minutes of silence later Anna asked "Will you come to the funeral? It'll be tomorrow." Hearing her ask that again Ellie showed a rare moment of intelligence and asked an important question... That's new... "Why do you want us there?" Yes very good question Ellie... Why would she want some strangers she met like two days ago who failed to do the one thing they said they'd do. It makes no sense. Being questioned Anna frowned... "I don't know." Hmm... welp clearly we aren't "We will be there." ELLIE!!! Come on why would we go to such a sad place such a bummer. We didn't know the guy we don't know anyone involve but now we gotta morn? Fat chance I feel nothing. After nodding and leaving followed by the silent Nathon Ellie turned to me with an angry glare... What? I didn't do anything. Oh is she mad at her boobs? Did they do something? "You need to be more considerate." Her boobs? Are they being inconsiderate? Nah she clearly means me... Why? What did I do wrong... I'm clearly right we don't belong at the funeral. Me being upset at having to go is perfectly valid. Feeling my confusion Ellie looked away "We are going." Why I can't even be in public anyways right? There will be a panic. Ah whatever I'll just sleep through it. So tomorrow hmm... Well I guess I can always get an apology gift during the wait. After a long day of playing about the city with the excuse of hunting the cloud beast that is hiding and sampling free food the citizens gave her after finding out she removed most the mist clogging up the streets last night as a guard saw all the mist fly into her rooms window. Oh... I should be more careful. Soon night falls and Ellie falls asleep next to the ever silent Addie who had spent the whole day alone in the room. I don't know what's up with this little girl she was so lively before.
Crawling out of my comfy booby bed I carefully climb out of the sleeping bag that Ellie refuses to not sleep in it is more comfy then the cheap bed I guess. Addie doesn't seem to mind the bed so she sleeps next to the leather caterpillar on the bed. As I climb out I see her still masked face sleeping cuddled up hugging Ellie through the sleeping bag. With a few hops followed by some rolling healing and climbing I manage to silently reach the window before gently pushing it open unlatching it with a cloud claw and flying out before closing it up again leaving the room full of mist just encase and clouds on my wings I fly up into the night sky and quickly reach the outside of the small fort flying towards the mist I feel in the distance as I fly towards it.
