Chapter 11 - Dungeon Core

Maxius's Room

It's nighttime, and everyone in the Gremory castle is asleep, resting in their respective bedrooms—except for me. Right now, I'm in my game world, using my ability to create a dimensional room known as Dimensional Rule. This ability allows me to craft spaces that are fully customizable based on my specific needs at the time. This time, I designed the room to resemble a classroom instead of the usual wide field, as I wanted an environment that fosters focused learning.

I've meticulously organized my studies by dividing them into subjects and assigning specific days for each. From Monday through Wednesday, I dedicate my time to magic, science, and craftsmanship, learning from various masters in their respective fields. By leveraging the power of Dimensional Rule, I can create multiple artificial clones of legendary masters from various worlds, each retaining their complete memories and experiences. This unique approach allows me to learn directly from their perspectives, gaining experiential knowledge far more efficiently than through conventional methods. Of course, I still read on my own, particularly when studying subjects that I have a solid foundational structure or theory.

By integrating this structured method and my game world's time dilation, I maximize my productivity, ensuring steady progress across all areas of study. The time dilation effect, which operates at a 1:240 ratio, allows me to experience a month's worth of learning in just three hours of real-world time. This means that while others might require years to master complex subjects, I can accomplish the same within a matter of days or weeks in real-world time. Combined with the ability to create dimensional rooms tailored to specific learning environments and summon clones of legendary masters to teach me directly, this system ensures that my intellectual and physical growth is unparalleled. Furthermore, the structured schedule helps me maintain a balance between magical theory, scientific exploration, and rigorous physical training, making sure I develop holistically in every domain.

From Thursday night to Saturday night, I dedicate myself entirely to physical training, focusing on martial arts, swordsmanship, and overall combat readiness. This routine has been meticulously structured to cover various aspects of physical combat, including endurance, speed, reflexes, and strength training. I've had the privilege of training under exceptional masters from different worlds, each specializing in unique combat styles and techniques. These masters subjected me to grueling regimens, often pushing me to my physical and mental limits, but the experience has been invaluable. Through this intense training, I've honed my skills far beyond what most in my age group could achieve, making me highly proficient in both armed and unarmed combat. Additionally, this experience has not only enhanced my physical abilities but also sharpened my tactical awareness and fighting instincts, ensuring that I can adapt to various battle scenarios effortlessly.

If you're unfamiliar with the High School DXD light novels, you wouldn't know how broken this world truly is—filled with beings of immense power who can bend reality and annihilate entire armies with a mere thought. Although I don't remember most of what happens in High School DXD, I do recall fragments of significant events and the existence of overwhelmingly powerful beings. While I'm confident in my current abilities and acknowledge that I have surpassed most individuals my age, I remain painfully aware of the colossal gap that still exists between me and the strongest entities in this world. There are individuals capable of effortlessly obliterating me with a glance, beings whose existence defies logic itself.

This knowledge is both humbling and motivating. It drives me to push beyond my limits, to learn tirelessly from all available masters, and to accumulate as much practical knowledge as possible. Every spell mastered, every combat technique perfected, and every scientific theory understood brings me one step closer to bridging that gap. I am under no illusions of invincibility; instead, I am fueled by the understanding that strength in this world is a never-ending journey—one that I am determined to master, no matter how grueling the path may be.

This is why I decided to delve deeper into advanced magic and magic craftsmanship. After finishing my previous magic classes with LoLo years ago, I shifted my focus to science and physical training. Although I occasionally dabbled in magical subjects, they weren't a priority until now. That's why my new magic teacher is Anos Voldigoad from Misfit of Demon King Academy, who designed a curriculum alongside my magic-craft teacher, Jin Nidoh from the Magicraft Meister world.

Over the past few days, I've made significant progress under the guidance of Anos-sensei and Jin-sensei. Since I can now manipulate time in the game world more efficiently, This accelerated time manipulation has allowed me to immerse myself in intense, uninterrupted study and training sessions. With a well-structured curriculum designed by both Anos-sensei and Jin-sensei, I've been able to delve deeper into advanced magical theory, refine intricate spellwork, and enhance my craftsmanship techniques far beyond ordinary limits.

During the day, when not engaged in night classes, I focus on my latest and most ambitious project—a dungeon core. The inspiration to create this dungeon struck me during one of my training sessions with Katsumi, Rias, Akeno, and Sona. I observed that young devils, despite their potential, lack real-world battle experience and seldom commit to rigorous training. Many tend to rely solely on their innate demonic abilities rather than honing their skills through practical combat. Recognizing this gap, I decided to build a dungeon that would serve a dual purpose: as a challenging training ground where young devils could develop their abilities and as a future base of operations for myself.

Maxius's Lab

Dressed in a lab coat, I stood in my lab, accompanied by Kei, a small creature flying beside me using its long ears. Katsumi sat at a table in the corner, engrossed in books on wood magic, plant magic, and wood release from the Naruto world.

In front of Kei and me was a black crystal sphere resting on the table.

"Kei, bring up the coding matrix for the dungeon core," I instructed.

"Okay," Kei responded, raising its small hand. A holographic screen materialized in midair, shimmering with intricate patterns of magical formulas and glowing runes. The screen pulsated softly, each rune aligning perfectly into a complex matrix designed for precise control of magical energy. As the display expanded, additional layers of formulas appeared, detailing the core's internal structure, energy flow, and dimensional stability parameters.

After inspecting the framework, I noted that it was in good shape. "Now, we just need to add a few enhancements, and it should be perfect for the initial phase."

I raised my hand, summoning a holographic keyboard, and began typing, meticulously adding a new energy framework to the core's matrix. This framework incorporated a spell I developed with the assistance of Anos-sensei and guest teacher Ciel from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Ciel's expertise in advanced computation was invaluable for calculating complex probabilities and ensuring the stability of the spell. The core concept was inspired by Milim's skill, Magicule Breeder Reactor—an ability that enables her to continuously absorb magicules from the environment, merge them with her own energy, and initiate a reaction similar to nuclear fusion. This reaction exponentially multiplies energy output while keeping consumption at a negligible level, effectively granting near-infinite energy for sustained combat and operation.

This spell was further refined to ensure it would remain compatible with the dungeon's overall mana absorption system, allowing it to draw vast amounts of ambient mana without disrupting the surrounding area's natural balance. Additionally, safeguards were embedded into the framework to prevent potential overloads or feedback loops, ensuring consistent energy flow even under extreme conditions.

Once I completed the energy framework, I integrated another advanced spell inspired by Ramiris's skill, Small World. This powerful ability allows for the creation of a near-endless labyrinth composed of isolated spaces that can be customized in terms of dimensions, shapes, and environmental features. Each floor can be uniquely tailored, from barren wastelands to lush forests, ensuring an unpredictable and diverse training environment. Additionally, the spell's dimensional isolation capability makes it extraordinarily difficult to break or tamper with the dungeon from the outside, ensuring its security.

The dungeon's potential is virtually limitless, as it can accommodate an infinite number of floors as long as there is sufficient energy to sustain them. Though life forms cannot be artificially created within the dungeon, existing life can be preserved indefinitely. To further enhance its functionality, I incorporated a special resurrection system based on an item crafted through this spell. This system allows individuals who perish inside the labyrinth to be resurrected safely outside, provided they are registered with the core. Moreover, specific floors can be programmed to automatically revive fallen individuals on-site without requiring manual intervention or special items, making the dungeon an ideal, risk-mitigated training ground for young devils and aspiring warriors alike.

Next, I added several spells from the Misfit of Demon King Academy world, taught by Anos-sensei. These spells included:

Ent: A healing spell. Enchel: A more potent version of Ent. El Chanel: The most powerful healing spell, capable of reversing all damage, including stigmas inflicted by holy swords. Gijel: A spell that binds targets with magical chains. Dejit: A spell that locks gates and doors, permitting entry only to authorized individuals. Eyss: A spell that removes poison from the body. Roze: A spell capable of conjuring various types of food, including meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, and wine.

Once I finished typing, I dismissed the holographic keyboard. "Kei, send the matrix into the core."

Kei moved its hand, causing the intricate holographic screen to fold in on itself, gradually compressing into a small, dense sphere made up of colorful, swirling magical runes. The runes shimmered with an ethereal glow, pulsating rhythmically as they aligned into a cohesive matrix. With a sudden burst of energy, the sphere flew into the black crystal core on the table. The core immediately responded, glowing intensely as waves of multicolored light rippled across its surface, signaling the successful integration of the coding matrix. After a few minutes, the glow subsided, and the sphere returned to its dormant state, now imbued with the newly enhanced framework. I picked it up, turning it over in my hand to inspect the subtle changes in its surface, feeling a slight hum of contained power emanating from within.

"I'm hungry," Kei announced.

Smiling, I placed the sphere back on the table. "Okay, let's go eat some ramen. How about you, Katsumi?"

Katsumi looked up from her book and nodded.

"Yay, tasty ramen!" Kei cheered.

Gremory Territory

The next day, Katsumi, Kei, and I ventured deep into a remote area within the Gremory territory. This location was a vast, undeveloped expanse, untouched by any signs of civilization. Towering ancient trees surrounded the open clearing we had chosen, their thick canopies casting dappled shadows on the forest floor. The air was thick with mana, a palpable energy emanating from the land itself, making it an ideal location for the dungeon core to absorb ambient magic. Despite the serene beauty of the landscape, there was an underlying sense of raw, untapped potential—the perfect environment to begin the creation of something truly monumental.

"This spot should work," I said, placing the black sphere on the ground.

A giant magical circle appeared beneath the sphere, radiating with an intricate network of glowing runes and symbols that pulsed in sync with the ambient mana of the area. The circle expanded outward, creating a ripple effect across the ground as it established a stable connection with the surrounding energy field. Moments later, the black sphere began to sink slowly into the earth, merging seamlessly with the ground as if being absorbed by the very fabric of the land. As the last glimmer of light faded, a faint hum resonated through the air, signaling the successful implantation of the dungeon core.

"So, when will the dungeon be ready?" Katsumi asked.

"Not for a few years," I replied. "The dungeon core needs to absorb an immense amount of mana from the atmosphere to fully activate the magical breeder reactor. This reactor functions by drawing in ambient mana and initiating a complex fusion process, which will generate a stable and nearly infinite source of energy to sustain the dungeon's numerous systems. Until this critical activation phase is complete, the core must remain undisturbed in a mana-rich environment, gradually accumulating the necessary energy. Only then will the dungeon begin to materialize and function as intended, allowing us to proceed with further enhancements."
