The order arrived at the kingdom where the man who came back was dispatched and from their distance alone, they could already smell the stench of death. The path leading to the kingdom was desolate and there were remnants of destroyed carriages on the ground but there were no bodies on the ground.
They surveyed the surroundings of the entrance and saw similar situation, even after they entered the kingdom, all they could see were wreckage but no human body. The foul smell was actually coming from the animals that died from the attack. Apollo kneeled in front of one of the animals and observed its wounds. The wounds were deep and in sets of five, similar wounds were observed from the other animals they saw on the way. Even the marks left on the wounds and pavement were similar to the wounds.
"Whatever did this was surely not human," Arthur spoke up after the silence they had ever since they entered the ruins.
