The containment spell only lasted for a few minutes and Dreigh had put everything he can into the containment. He collapsed kneeling on the ground and panted as he looked at the wind that was slowly disappearing. A shadow could be seen from the inside as the swirling wind disappeared.
Arthur cursed to himself and struggled to get stand up. Summoning more wind spirits for another attack was not fun since he had been using large amount of energy to all the spells he had been using so far. Before he could make any attack, a reddish fire ball with wisps of blue around it hit the man whom he was fighting, followed by a large blue death scythe. With these attacks, the man was not able to survive and he was left into a bloody mess on the ground.
Arthur was very familiar with that fire and was astonished at how fast they had come to Westdenn. He thought that Karina would be gone for at least a month or so. A familiar woman and man landed in front of Arthur and scrutinized him with different expressions on their faces. Karina had a raised eyebrow and the other man still had on a cold face.
"Well, I did not think that something like that would be able to bring you down on your knees," Karina mocked Arthur and gave a laugh that irritated Arthur.
"Tsk, I can take down that monster even without your help," he stood up and steadied his posture. He looked at the other man beside Karina and observed that he did not change a bit. "I thought you'd be gone longer?" he added annoyed.
"I've already contacted Apollo while we were still with the werewolves and had met him on my way to our supposed meeting place and we rushed here while I explained to him the situation. But after we reached Westdenn, the place was in a mess and the people there are all angry and are eager to fight," she simply explained.
"Stop talking, we can talk about this after we make sure that he is alright," Apollo interrupted them and both knew who he was talking about. If Apollo had recognized him as their master, then they should follow and stop talking.
----
Dreigh and the others were in a predicament, after they thought that no one had followed them and they were able to evade their pursuers, they only rested for a moment when they found themselves being surrounded by angry people holding swords on their hands.
Their faces were filled with crazed expressions and clearly they are not there to listen to any reason. The rage can be felt even in the air.
"Kill them!" One man shouted and the others were suddenly spurred into action. The guards with them did their best to defend them even Dreigh, Endo and Rond were defending, they were reluctant to hurt them even though the killing intent from these people could be felt.
"What do we do now?" Rond asked as he used his earth to stop the mob from advancing but for an unknown reason his earth walls are easily destroyed by the people after them. "Something is wrong with them!" he shouted a little bit panicked. It was the first time that he felt that something was wrong with these people and their actions. It was as if they have completely lost their minds that they don't feel the scratches and bumps the earth wall had been inflicting on them.
Dreigh looked at his father and the others, "Father, we give you an opening, please escape and don't wait for us."
Levhon's face turned grave at those words but he still nodded. Everything was fine until all of this matter had been blown out of proportion. The two children with them were shaking in fear and were on the verge of crying, the young people of their families were fighting to keep them harm while they the adults cannot do anything but watch.
"Mr. Levhon…" Endo's father whispered in a shaky voice.
"Calm down, trust in them." Levhon answered in a calm voice as he looked at all their faces. "If we don't survive this ordeal, then maybe that is our fate."
"We will survive," suddenly Endo's brother spoke from behind. His voice was filled with confidence and there was certainty on his eyes. Levhon nodded and so did the others.
Using his affinity, Rond molded a gigantic ball made of soil and rocks and with his remaining energy he pushed this ball and let it roll towards the east. Levhon and the others followed this ball while Dreigh controlled several woods to act as a barrier for his father and the others while they were escaping.
"You follow them, we will do our best to handle this people." Rond looked at Endo and Dreigh with a rare sternness. "They are your family they need you the most."
"I'll stay here don't worry, I'll make sure they don't die." Even though Vira was a little bit scared, he still mustered courage and smiled at his friends.
"Stay alive," Dreigh did not push, he knew that even though he would object to this plan, they would not relent. They only knew each other for a short period of time but he can fully understand this people.
Rond and Vira nodded, "of course we will."
Endo and Dreigh set off to follow their parents. They ran for as fast as they could and finally was able to catch up with Levhon and the others but by the time they arrive the situation was not good. Several men surrounded their families and Dreigh could see some wounds on his father, on Mr. Mazir and Endo's father. They could also hear Endo's brother in a frantic voice shouting at the men.
"You said that my family and I would be spared and would even receive the reward if I tell you if I see my brother! I even told you all information you asked, then why are you doing this!?" he was enraged. He made a deal with these people. They had promised to not pressure there family anymore and that they would receive compensation if he would tell them any information about his brother. He was tempted and thus helped these people and gave them what they wanted. He thought to himself that this was the right time for him to dispose of his brother and even earn money, in that way he can hit two stones with one strike. This brother of his was only adopted by their parents and since then he felt that this person had taken everything that was supposed to be for him
It was jealousy nursed for so many years and when an offer came knocking on his door, he did not think twice and agreed to it. All so that he can get rid of his brother and not let him return to their family anymore. He did not expect that these people would eventually go back on their words.
The man he was talking to suddenly laughed out loud, "do you really think that we would cooperate with a person related to a remnant?" he asked in a mocking voice.
Endo's brother was shocked at those words and eventually understood what the man was implying. They only used him for their own goals and did not consider giving him what they had promised.
"Your anger towards that brother of yours is really a good thing, we were able to convince you immediately. Even that greed of yours is truly amazing, you appear good and amiable in front of the others but in reality your heart is utterly black." The man's voice once again rang and this time there was pity on his eyes.
Before anything could happen again, Endo sent a series of flame shot on their direction which made the people surrounding their families scatter. The men were stunned for a moment but they immediately got their bearing and focused on Dreigh and Endo.
"Don't hesitate! Those remnants are already weak!" the man who spoke to Endo's brother shouted from behind. Endo looked at this man with a scared face and unruly hair with anger. In rage, he knocked the men who attacked him and directed his attack on the man.
"Endo calm down!" Dreigh shouted but Endo was not listening, he was consumed with anger at this man.
The man was able to dodge Endo's attacks and even laughed at how clumsily Endo was attacking him. "Why are you angry at me brat? You should go and attack your brother. You know he sold you all without hesitation." The man laughed like a maniac which provoked Endo more.
"You!" he was about to attack but Dreigh managed to pull him back and stood in front of him.
"You need to calm down Endo. He can easily provoke you because you let him. Like you, I am angry right now but if you let your emotions control you then we won't be able to think of a way to solve this ordeal," he stated in his most calm voice while his gaze never left the man.
The ma suddenly clapped with a grin on his face, "wow, that's a great speech, well then let's see how long will you last."
