The Kingdom of Archellia lies beneath the great mountain of Sierra, it uses the mountain's high peaks and stone walls to protect the kingdom from unwanted forces. The palace itself appears to be part of the mountain, from its gray to greenish color and stone walls. Archellia has been living in grandeur and greatness but with one event everything changed.
The night was eerily silent, there were no whooshing of the wind or sounds from the animals, it was quiet, so quiet that it gives a chill to the soul. A shrill cry brought life into the night together with several explosions caused by the stars falling from the sky.
In mere seconds, the kingdom was engulfed with fire and chaos. People were screaming and running for their lives but it was difficult to find a haven in the midst of destruction. They were not only running away from the fire but also from beings unknown to man that had suddenly appeared and battled each other, leaving a trail of carnage and death in their wake.
An orange glow lit the sky and the smell of burning flesh and the metallic scent of blood permeated the air. The land was almost burnt to ashes, no building nor houses were spared even the streets were filled with dead bodies, young or old, even the very symbol of power that stood atop the Prism Continent was not spared.
The palace that boasted unbeatable defense was not left unscathed from the explosion. Not even the military forces of the kingdom were prepared for what was happening.
"Your highness, we must go now," a woman wearing the silver armor embroidered with the Archellian insignia burst through the delivery room.
It was supposed to be a happy night for the kingdom, for the queen was going to deliver the kingdom's future heir but everything went awry with the first explosion.
"Please take my wife and son, protect them, Aries." The King said with a pleading yet commanding voice. As the king of Archellia, he cannot leave his people, it would be enough for him to know that his son and wife will be safe.
The woman called Aries with the help of the royal guards carried the queen and the newborn prince out of the room. She led them through the winding corridors of the palace but luck was not with them, as they were about to reach the iron doors of safety, flashes of white and black suddenly blocked their path.
The unknown beings continued to battle each other, no one was yielding to the other. Flashes of immense power from both the dark and light being dominated the sky as the battle raged on when finally the dark being was able to overpower the being of light. They both plummeted down and the being of the dark was able to pin the being of light.
"I will destroy you and rule over your world and this world," the being of the dark spat with a hiss.
"I will not let you have the victory, you will not rule over my world or this world, not in the past, not now, and not even in the future," the being of light answered with conviction and confidence.
The being of light exploded into pure energy of whiteness erasing the being of the dark. The explosion caused a rumble that made the walls collapsed. Unprepared, Aries and the royal guards were caught trapped between the floor and the now fallen ceiling, while the queen used her body to protect the child in her arms.
"Ssshhh, you will be fine my little prince, I'm here. I will always love and protect you," the queen kissed her son's head as she slowly lost consciousness. As if sensing that his mother is gone, the child suddenly cried and cried and that was how the King saw his son and his wife after the chaos has calmed down.
