Chapter 1 - Rashad Armas

There was a young man lying on the bed.

The endless darkness before his eyes gave way to a strange picture. Rubbing his eyes, the youth began to look around.

The room was fairly empty. There was nothing else but a bed, a wardrobe, and a small table. There was a stack of books on the table, along with a sheet of paper and ink.

'Am I not dead?'

His last memory was of an unexpected shootout in which he lost his life. Other memories were rather blurry.

It was very difficult to move. He struggled to take a sitting position as his head started to ache violently. It seemed to him that someone was picking at his brain with a fork. It was an unpleasant sensation.

'If I survived, I should be in the hospital, but this place... It's clearly unfamiliar to me.'

Suppressing the pain, he stood up and walked over to the table. He reached for a piece of paper and began to read the contents. Even then, he felt something strange.

'Beloved Sanora, I am very sorry that everything turned out this way. Your refusal broke my heart...' he read all this bullsh*t for a long time before he saw the name of the author of these lines.

He froze, then looked down at his hands. They were stained with ink.

'Rashad Armas?' repeating this name in his heart, unfamiliar memories exploded in his head. The pain was so intense that he wanted to hit the wall to somehow dull it.

With a pale face, he fell to the floor, unable to move. He saw the now-familiar room, which had seemed quite strange to him only a short time ago.

After an unknown amount of time, he was able to get to his feet. His thoughts were still in disarray.

'I have left the known world!'

Now his name was Rashad, and he could not believe what was happening. Memories of his past life came back to him, as did some of the memories of the man whose body he had taken over.

Rashad rushed into the corridor and opened one of the doors that led to the bathroom. He looked in the mirror.

There was a tall but very thin young man before him. His sloppy black hair almost reached his shoulders. Rashad frowned and took a hairband to tie his hair in a ponytail.

I am very different from my former self, he thought.

On Earth, he had been a tramp since childhood. At the age of ten, he was already part of the city gang. When he became the head of the gang, he was already notorious throughout the city.

There was a knock.

"Who's there?" asked Rashad.

A worried voice came through the door, "Rashad, are you all right? I know it's hard for you right now, but you should have realized by now that Sanora is a pathetic little b*tch. You must not grieve for her."

Looking at himself in the mirror, Rashad grinned, "I know, Wallace."

The man behind the door fell silent. Wallace was shocked by Rashad's attitude. This snotty guy could not say such words. Former Rashad would tearfully throw himself at him, shouting that Sanora was an angel and he was a scumbag.

The door opened and Rashad came out. Wallace immediately noticed that something was wrong with his roommate, but could not say anything. His friend gave the impression of a very different person.

"Wallace, the old me is gone. Today I'm starting a new life."

Wallace: ???

Taking his jacket, Rashad went outside to get some fresh air and look around.

This world was not like modern Earth. There was no such technology here. The development of science and technology here roughly corresponded to the times of the industrial revolution.

Rashad was a regular student at St. Peter University. He was due to graduate in a few weeks. Rashad sighed because all the exams had already been passed and he would not have to worry about it.

The strange thing was that Rashad did not remember his life before university.

'Perhaps these are the consequences of my transmigration...'

There was no mention of the family in all his memories, but he decided not to think much about it.

This world seemed too simple. Rashad had a bad feeling about that. In any case, he was glad to be alive. He was already blessed with the chance given to him.

Without thinking twice, he went to the library in search of books on religious topics. If there is something strange in the world, it must have a connection with religion! Rashad was an uneducated man in his past life, but he was used to thinking a lot.

'I can find other useful information in the library.'

He had no difficulty in remembering the way to the library and started on his way. Thanks to his powers of observation, he noticed strange glances directed towards him.

Inwardly, he snorted, not stopping for a second.

Ten minutes later, he was standing in front of the library entrance. When he went inside, he saw a girl sitting in the right corner of the room. Her blond hair fell to her waist. Her fair skin glistened in the soft light. She was reading a book, occasionally adjusting her glasses.

A real beauty!

But Rashad could not enjoy her charm. He easily remembered that the former Rashad had been in love with this girl.

It was Sanora, the campus goddess!

In truth, Rashad despised people who in every possible way bowed to external beauty. The previous owner of the body was just that. He did not care about his dignity.

At the moment, Rashad wanted to explore this world, not deal with inherited trivial problems. He decided to ignore the girl.

There were guys in the library, too. When Rashad entered, many people looked at him.

One guy ran up to Sanora, who was deep in a book and whispered something to her.

She immediately looked up at Rashad and frowned. The same guy suddenly grinned and walked over to Rashad.

"Friend, why did you come here?" he asked.

"Why do people usually come to the library?" Rashad laughed.

The temperature in the air rose. A storm was brewing.

"Don't joke like that, you pathetic fool. Don't go after Sanora, she is not interested in you," he just shrugged it off.

"Well, I would love to, but let me go to the library." Rashad was about to pass by when a fist flew past his face. If he had not subconsciously dodged, he would have already been injured.

'This a*shole wants to impress that b*tch!' Rashad thought.

Everything fell silent. The attention of the crowd was riveted to what was happening.

"You don't seem to understand. You cannot come in here while she is here." The guy pointed to Sanora, who was reading a book as if she did not care.

Rashad laughed, took a step forward, and put his hand on his opponent's shoulder.

"What's your name?"

"Terry."

"Wonderful! Terry, do not bark please." Having said this, Rashad hit the opponent's crotch. The latter whined plaintively and fell to his knees.

There was an uproar and several more people broke out of the crowd.
