Eon stretched as he woke up. The fog had thinned somewhat as he slept, making him feel less edgy. Rielen was chewing on some jerky they brought with them. She handed him a piece.
"Anything happen while I was asleep?" Eon asked. Rielen shook her head. "The fog started thinning around thirty minutes ago. I suspect it was best to stay put when it was that thick." She replied.
It seemed this whole maze was designed to dim the senses and confuse the participants. Eon wondered just how many participants had fallen victim to its tricks. He wondered how long they would last taking turns watching for enemies.
Eon and Rielen watched as the fog dissipated and the air seemed to become easier to breathe as well. Rielen felt a weight lifted from her shoulders.
She did not know why, but the fog felt sinister. Then again a lot of the experiences in this maze had felt that way to her.
