The more he read the more irritated Eon felt. 'Why are all of these books useless!' He dropped the latest disappointing book on the pile of the table. He clenched the side of the table for a moment.
Hearing a straining creak, he removed his hands. He rubbed his forehead. All of the reading had given him a headache. He realized it had gotten late in the day. The light had changed significantly in the room as it was now evening.
"Can I help you find something, sir?" Roy asked. He had been watching Eon struggle as he came in and out of the room all day. Eon glared at the new visitor in the room. 'I didn't even notice his presence.' Eon realized he had slipped.
"Only if you can find me a book on how to block magical attacks with just reinforcement magic." He grumbled, not expecting an answer. Roy thought for a moment. "Wouldn't just a layered mana shield do the trick?"
