They had been brought to a dark hallway to wait for the trial to begin. Rielen could hear cheering behind the large gateway. The gods had prepared a large stadium for their favorite form of entertainment. Rielen peeked through the many cracks in the wood of the large gate.
She could see a large field that stretched out as far as the eyes could see. There were many gates along the wall of the stadium. Rielen guessed other trial challengers were behind them. The rules were the last team standing would win.
Alani and Ektor were sitting down waiting patiently. They had participated in a trial before. Not many members of the sect actively sought out participation in the trials. It was only those who wished for something more that did so. The two were determined and had survived through Eon's brutal training.
