Eon had fallen asleep by the time Rielen exited the workshop. The embers in the fire crackled as Rielen lifted the book resting in Eon's lap. She stifled a giggle at the cute expression on his sleeping face. She wrapped the blanket on the couch around him.
Looking to the stairs, Rielen felt the exhaustion that had built up over the night. Not wanting to climb up the cold and dark stairs, she decided that spending the night on the couch with Eon wouldn't be such a bad idea. She had just fallen asleep when she felt herself being lifted up in the air.
"Back to sleep." She heard Eon's familiar voice soothe her in her ear. She turned her head into his warm chest and fell deeper into sleep. The movement on the couch had woken him. Although he enjoyed being picked over a comfortable bed, he couldn't allow the potential uncomfortable aches in the morning.
