Edie gasped in pain, and almost immediately, a cold sweat broke out on her forehead. It slowly dripped down her face. She now had a deep suspicion that she was fighting a losing battle. She clenched her fists and raised her head to look at him. It was as though her fear of him was gone, she looked into his eyes, "What right do you have to do this to me? I have told you this many times, why do you still refuse to let me go!"
"Let you go? You never let go of me, why should I let you go?" Donald screamed. His jaw tightened until you could see a blue vein starting to bulge in his neck. Edie looked at him in surprise as she had never seen this look in his face before.
She remembered the look he had at the coffee shop, but this look he had now was much more intense. Was he going crazy? He was, he had to be. There was no other explanation, and Edie started to panic. His hand was now on her shoulder, and with all strength, he began to squeeze.
