[Proto Earth]
Seeing the enemy right infront of her, Lilia then quickly got into her stance as she whispered an order towards Sys.
"Sys! Watch out for his micro movement, warn me for any unsuspected attacks"
(Sys: "You got it!")
With that Lilia rushed forward with her blade in hand, as she quickly leaped midway towards him while slashing down her blade at him. However Janus simply dodge such an ordinary attack, before he quickly blocked Lilia's follow up three arm and blade combo, and easily dodging her sudden spin kick by ducking down below.
After doing all of that, Janus then quickly stretched out his hand to grab Lilia, only for the latter to quickly kick his hand away, before splitting herself into three identical copies of herself and using the clones to attack him in both sides.
Upon seeing this, Janus then quickly blasted two clones away using some kind of reflective sonic attack, before confusing a huge sword and slashing it down towards Lilia. Unfortunately Lilia was quick enough to immediately submerge into her shadow in order to dodge the attack, before reappearing behind him and swing down her blade.
This time Janus defended himself by putting up a psychic barrier around himself to block Lilia's attack. Before quickly turning around and enact a huge attack which could destroy a whole area. However just like before Lilia easily dodge his counter attack by submerging into her shadow and reappearing again with a huge army of clone in tow.
Due to this, Janus was forced to teleport away, as he quickly conjured dozen of huge flaming ball in the air and launching them towards the army of clones that Lilia had made, causing multiple explosions to erupt.
But just as he thought that he escaped Lilia, the person herself then suddenly appeared on the roof of the building near him, as she changed her weapon from blade to a bow. Using this she then quickly loaded her bow with mana arrow, as she shot three mana arrows per second making it look like Janus was being bombarded by attacks.
Not only that but every time the arrows hit something, they immediately exploded, causing further obstructions for Janus to target Lilia.
With no choice, Janus then quickly speedblitz through Lilia's bombardment, as he finally arrives before her in a split second and delivering a blow so fast that he thought it had landed on her perfectly. However to his surprise, Lilia manage to see his sudden surprise attack, as she manage to defend herself despite being blown away.
Seeing that she manage to defend herself twice, Janus couldn't help but wonder who was she, as he begun to get intrigue by Lilia's capability.
"Seriously who are you, your not one of the targets companion, so the only plausible way I can say is that your a native of this world... tell me why are you helping no.99?"
"99? I don't know who you people are, but I'm pretty sure your the bad guys here"
"Bad guys? Hah! Bad guys you say... looks like you don't know anything, you've been kept in the dark, if I am a bad guy, what's more to no.99? You don't know who your defending" Laughed by Janus.
After stating that, he then suddenly teleported towards Lilia in sudden movement, as grabbed her head, and punching her side repeatedly until her side uniform armor was destroyed.
Seeing this, Lilia then clenched her teeth and she grits her pain, before delivering her counter punch towards Janus straight towards his face. However Janus simply dodged her attack, before he kick her other side and launching her to crash towards the distance.
"What your defending is not a human, your defending a monster"
"Well... now I know that your dictionary for words are sh*t you don't even know the meaning of the word monster" retorted by Lilia as she endured the pain on her body
"Oh I know it all too well, a monster is the one who disrupts the balance, cause chaos, destruction, and especially destroy the order of things"
"Haha! What a hypocrite, aren't those description is exactly what uour doing, in my eyes you are the monster"
"Is that how you see it? That's quite disappointing... well I do have my reasons and that is I don't care about this world, it ain't mine after all"
After Janus said those words, something fell from the sky as Madrigal was sprawled out on the ground and was literally injured all over her body. It seems like after Kaido had split from Argos, the person then took it upon himself by releasing a small amount of his true power in order to subdue Madrigal. Due to that she ended up in such state wherein all of her bones in her limbs were broken.
"Its a special delivery" said by Argos as he flew down on the rooftop of a nearby building.
"Well we won't deny, we are kind of a monster ourselves... considering we're not human so yeah" said by Lilia who had just arrived and stood behind Janus.
"Look we all understand but we do all have monsters inside of us, you don't have to be ashamed and pretend to be a hero you know" commented by Kaido who stood at the building on his right.
In this very moment Janus was surrounded in all four sides. This time not only does he have to pay attention to Lilia, buy he also have to pay attention to the rest who just came to get him.
With that he then looked at Madrigal's pathetic situation as she said.
"Janus! Help me! He caught me off guard, please!"
Hearing her plea, Janus then bent down towards her as he touched her back and begun to use his esper ability on her. Sensing his power, Madrigal was quite thankful for Janus, only to realize that her body was not healing at all.
Confused by this, she then turned to look at Janus, only for her to see him looking at her pathetically before saying.
"Don't worry! I'll use your ability well"
Hearing those words Madrigal realized what Janus meant by his words. He was not healing her, but rather stealing her ability.
"No! No! You can't do this to me! You bastard! Nobody!"
As Madrigal tried to scramble away from Janus, the person himself then quickly caught her ankle, as he pulled her closer, before placing his hand unto her back. After that Janus then begun it absorption process as Madrigal screamed for mercy.
After all for espers who had grown attached with their ability, their own ability is like a part of their soul, something that can be called out as them and is only for them. So when Janus tried to steal Madrigal's ability away, it was also tantamount to him stealing a part of her being.
Of course Kaido and the rest isn't stupid enough to just simply watch as Janus get stronger, so without a single word spoken, all four of them quickly rushed towards him as they plan to foil his intention.
However the moment they did such a thing, Janus then conjured multiple clones of himself, as he ordered them to protect him until he is finished absorbing Madrigal's esper ability. Naturally in order for his clones to have even a chance of going agaisnt Kaido and his group, he imparted a part of his ability unto them, making then enable to bend reality using their imagination.
However in comparison to the original, the clones are far inferior from their host. Due to that all four of them managed to breakthrough the formation of the clones while destroying their ability, before heading straight towards Janus himself.
"Someone stop him!!!" Said by Kaido as he threw a huge truck towards Janus.
However this time Janus set up an indestructible barrier around himself, which completely protected him from harm. In fact even Aileen's claws which can rip anyone apart and Lilia's blade which is so sharp that it can destroy steel easily, can't penetrate his barrier.
Seeing this, Argos then begun to charge up his breath as he plans to destroy the barrier with only using 30% of the attacks power.
"Dark Renegade!!!"
Unleashing a destructive breath like laser, Kaidl together with Lilia and Aileen immediately jumped away, as the attack itself had completely decimated the whole street with the attack engulfing Janus spot with its blast.
Thankfully before the attack could reach the area where the residents of this city are, Argos then quickly diverted its trajectory up into the sky which was powerful enough to split the cloud formation in half.
Unfortunately despite that, Janus barrier was still in place as Argos attack didn't managed to break through its defenses.
"What the!?!?! Just what is that thing made of?"
As Argos was slightly bewildered by the toughness of the barrier, Janus was then finished in absorbing Madrigal's ability, causing the person herself to feel like she lost something precious, as she limp unto the floor.
Now that Janus has Madrigal's esper ability, he then has little to fear as he will be able to phase him through Kaido's attack. But Madrigal's ability alone wasn't enough to fully dominate Kaido and his group.
With that in mind, Janus then quickly looked towards Lucian and Ekaterina's direction, as he rushed towards them, causing Kaido and the rest to realize his intentions.
With panic in their eyes, they then rushed to chase after him, in order to stop his schemes of absorbing the abilities of his other teammates.
"Aileen! Lilia! Get him!"
Since both Aileen and Lilia are people who are quick on their feet, Kaido then naturally asked them to chase after Janus since both of them could probably catch up to him far faster.
Realizing that fact without any exchange of words, both Aileen and Lilia had burst in speed as they tried to catch up to Janus using the speed that the had on themselves.
Just like that the first one who manage to catch up to Janus speed was Aileen herself. The moment she managed to match his pace, She then finally brought out her precious weapon from her spatial inventory and pulled out one of her lunar blades and slashed it towards Janus.
Unfortunately with Madrigal's ability at his disposal, Janus simply phased through her attack, giving a shocking surprise to Aileen before she got kicked away.
Such an expression was only natural since Aileen has literally no idea what Madrigal's ability is, the only people who knew how Madrigal's ability works is Argos and Kaido who had quite a hard time dealing with her.
But before Janus could get away after kicking Aileen, Lilia then suddenly jumped out from the shadow of the ceiling above and managed to slash down a huge wound on Janus back
"Argh!!!"
This sudden turn of events once more surprised Aileen as she doesn't understand why Janus was able to phase through her attack but wasn't able to phase through Lilia's ambush. There was an underlying secret here, if she manage to find out what, then she could potentially be able to bring down Janus despite with him having an annoying ability.
However despite delivering a successful blow, Janus simply used his imaginary ability to healed his wound like a regeneration, before he quickly turned around and punch Lilia.
Luckily for her Lilia was able to block his attack, before she got blown away and crash towards the pillars of a building which supports the whole establishment.
This time the moment Janus attention was pulled towards Lilia, Aileen then suddenly charged towards him once more and finally brought out the other pair of her lunar blade. With two blades pulled out, she then sent a cross sword wave towards Janus, forcing the latter to phase through the attack, before countering with a laser like blast which Aileen barely manage to dodge.
"Tsk!"
With that Aileen quickly ran up towards Janus after landing, which coincidentally match up the timing when Lilia came in from behind and started attacking Janus after taking out her chained sickle from her system's inventory.
Throwing the sickle as she swung it using the chains towards Janus, Lilia herself manage to force Janus to use his phasing ability, as he easily dodge the attack making him aware of Lilia's presence.
But during that gap when Janus attention was not on Aileen, the person herself then immediately appeared before him and swung her lunar blade towards Janus, forcing the latter to realize his mistake and was forced to teleport away. After all phasing through once more in that situation where he had just used that ability in haste is quite a burden and takes time.
Since there was almost no interval from the moment Lilia made her attack from Aileen's attack, he has no choice but to use another ability in order to escape their range of attack.
Unbeknownst to everyone using multiple abilities isn't exactly flawless and omnipotent. Such a talent is a double edge sword. On the front side it may seem omnipotent since the user could literally do anything with all the abilities he or she could imagine.
Each use of ability requires the user to fully use his brain to focus on such an ability. The reason why Janus could use the different ability back then without intervals needed is because all of it falls into his ability which is imagination. Anything he thinks, he can make it come true.
Imagination esper ability is his own esper ability, however phasing ability was not. It is something he had stolen from someone else, due to that the use of such ability continously is not as smooth as the other ability he thought of. That is the reason why there is a lag time interval between the switch of his imagination ability to phasing ability and vice versa.
In this very moment just as Janus teleported behind Aileen after dodging her attack, Lilia quickly maneuvered her whole body in mid air, as she switched her position and kicked Janus at the exact moment when he appeared behind Aileen.
Due to this Janus was blown back by the attack and crashed through the walls of the building.
From there both Aileen and Lilia quickly ran up towards Janus in hopes that they can chain their attack and prevent Janus from even using his ability.
First off just as Janus got up from the crash and used his ability ti heal himself up, Aileen then immediately appeared before him as she swung her sword, forcing Janus to use the phasing ability in order to dodge the attack. However right after Aileen's attack missed her attack, Lilia then suddenly came in and kicked his head at the moment when he deactivated his phasing ability to counter back at Aileen.
Due to that kick, Janus was then momentarily stunned, as Aileen quickly followed up slashing down her lunar blade once more. Due to that, blood was spilled unto the ground, as a huge cut appeared across Janus front, causing him to get out of his stunned state and reflexively detonated the blood spilled like a bomb using his imagination esper ability.
After teleporting away from the blast radius of the explosion, Janus then quickly healed his wound on his chest, only to get stabbed from behind, as he realized that Lilia managed to use his shadow to sneak up on him and attack him from behind.
Gritting his teeth, Janus enhanced the power on his right arm using his ability, as he quickly pulled himself away from the blade and launched a fist towards Lilia. However in response to his attack, Lilia immediately submerged into his shadow, causing his attack to miss and hit the ground, creating a huge crater that blasted away the whole street.
In that moment Aileen jumped out from the blast area completely unscathed, as she swung her blade only to miss when Janus once more used the phasing esper ability.
But just as Janus was about to counter back with his own attack towards Aileen, Lilia then suddenly wrapped her chains around his dominant arm, and pulled it back in order to restrict his movement. Due to this Janus failed his counterattack, which gave way for Aileen to chain her attack with multiple slashes which left Janus with full of slash wounds in all over his body.
Enduring the pain and getting annoyed by Lilia's continous interference, Janus suddenly grabbed Aileen by the throat, as he increased his strength on his arms, before tightening up his grip to the point that Aileen felt danger and veins appeared on her neck and her face as she tried to resist Janus grip.
But just as Janus was about to pull Lilia in order to deal with her alongside Aileen, his hand that was grabbing Aileen by the throat was suddenly cut away, as Aileen used her blade and cuts Janus thick arms.
"How dare you lay your hand on me"
Filled with anger, Aileen then slashed her blade once more which made a huge and deep cut across Janus body, before she de-materialized her other blade and directly punched Janus which sent him straight towards the top of the skyscraper from afar which is in front of them
Even though they launched him quite afar away, they were not worried at all as Argos was waiting on the spot ready to hammer him down. Since Argos was the one who defeated the esper who primarily use the phasing ability and manage to use it much more efficiently than Janus, he will be the complete counter for Janus annoying ability to phase through their attacks.
Just like what they expected, the moment that Janus was about to crash towards the skyscraper, Argos launched his breath at him from below, which illuminated the whole surroundings and punched a hole through the sky.
