[Unranked Dungeon, Sea of Trees]
Charging towards the huge tree in order to cut it down as the primary requirement to clear the boss room, the whole group then contributed as such , as they move forward and bypassed numerous layers of defenses coming from the treant itself. However along the way, the treants then became even more craftier, as they slowly pick off the group one by one starting from Shelly who was guarding the rear of the formation, then followed by Lilia and Alessandro.
Using any means necessary, they were able to separate the group from one another, and surround them each in a formation in which they thought that they wouldn't be able to escape from. However despite being surrounded, the whole group still haven't lost hope as they saw Kaido kept rushing forward without even looking back at them to ensure their safety.
"Keep running Kaido! Don't turn back, leave this to us" shouted by Shelly as she ordered Kaido to keep locking his sight towards their main target.
Unknown to her, Kaido himself was doing exactly what she said. Its not about the matter of trust that they will be safe, he just simply doesn't care whether the group aside form Lilia will survive or not. It may be because it stems out from his experience, but due to the fact on how much battle he had undergone already in all three worlds in total, he just doesn't care at all whether his allies would die or not and simply believed that they are strong enough to survive.
In his reality, it is the survival of the fittest. There was no place for the weak in the competition for supremacy. He may have considerations, but in face of battle, strength was everything and that belief is what made him survive till this day.
Since the plan to cut down the tree which is similar to destroyi9ng it, then any method he could choose to destroy the tree was acceptable as long as he managed to cut it down. With that said, Kaido gathered hot flames within his palm and lightning on the other, as he mixed two element together before setting everything ablaze and led the flame towards the huge tree towering above everyone.
In that moment the flame then squarely hit the tree, as the fire spread everywhere and some root started to turn into charcoal just from the heat of the flame alone. With such destructive flame, Kaido himself was confident that the attack itself could open an opportunity for him to easily cut down the tree. However the moment the flame attacking the huge tree had subsided, aside form its roots, the tree itself was practically unharmed as no sign of damage was seen on its trunk alone.
"What the!"
for the first time since forever Kaido himself was stunned speechless in sight of such durability that even his destructive flames wasn't even able to scratch the surface of its trunk. Not only him, but even Lilia, Shelly, and Alessandro were shocked by the outcome. After all , they all knew just how strong the flames that Kaido had manifested itself, it was so strong that it was able to decimate the initial formation of the treant itself and that same flame wasn't able to leave a scratch unto the tree trunk of the huge tree.
So it was quite understandable why they were shocked by the outcome too.
But despite being shocked, the battle wasn't over just yet, so without a second doubt that the tree would be safe no matter what the attackers do, the treant continued on with their attack, as they pressured the people who dared to attack their tree.
On the other hand while Kaido was shocked by the outcome, he suddenly sensed a danger coming from his left, as he quickly jumped back just in time to dodge a thrown spear right at him in the exact moment he made his move. Looking at the direction from where the spear was thrown, Kaido saw a special type of treant who was 2 times taller than the treant he had faced before.
This particular treant however has a moose deer horn design on its head, which made up of tree which indicate that it is superior than the other treants itself. Based on that Kaido somewhat sums up that the hierarchy of the treants society was purely based on how large the horns on its head are. But such an information was useless towards him as his primary objective was to cut down the tree.
Since the flames didn't work on it, Kaido then plans to create a huge scythe made up of wind and earth and empowered by scorching hot flame and lightning itself. But before he could create such a weapon, the treant that he ignored then suddenly appeared right before him and shadowing him from above, as it straight up punched him with an uppercut and literally threw him off his feet by pure strength alone.
Such fast attack literally came out of nowhere, due to that Kaido was cut off guard by such fist and was thrown back by the force of the attack had emitted. However despite him being caught off guard, Kaido was still able to erect up a barrier on his face just in time to defend himself and prevent his whole body from taking any damage from such an attack. Of course as an exchange from that sudden change of psychic maneuver, he then literally lost his ability which led to him being thrown off his feet and crashed quite a distance from his previous location.
Quickly recovering from his state, Kaido then slowly stood up from his ground as he caressed his face that got hit by the attack, which made him slowly smile in excitement from the adrenaline that is rushing up to his head. For the first time in awhile, someone or something had caught him off guard and dealt an unbelievable blow towards him. In his thoughts, he was finally happy that he found someone who could finally give him a challenge.
But just as Kaido was smiling excitedly from this sudden opportunity, the treant then suddenly appeared before him in a blink of an eye with a speed that Kaido didn't expect, as it struck out an uppercut and smacked it fist squarely towards Kaido's face. However due to the psychic barrier that Kaido had set up, the barrier itself had stopped the attack from successfully landing unto Kaido, which gave the latter enough time in order to quickly pull back up and struck the treant wind a wind blade.
Unfortunately despite the underlying sharpness of the attack, it only managed to knock back the treant as it showcased an incredible amount of durability that not even the sharpest object could easily cut through. Through this Kaido was shocked once more, as he then get quickly pummeled down as the treant dashed towards him and smacked him 0on the head with an attack from above.
As Kaido dropped down to the floor with slight headache from having his head smacked down, he then quickly grabbed ahold the ankle of the treant, as he quickly pulled back up with a single push of his esper ability, before he enhanced his strength by coursing his lightning element throughout his body and throw the treant towards the huge root that was just right behind him.
After throwing the treant, Kaido quickly manifested multiple spears made up of earth and steel , as he launched all of them towards the treant, which was quickly followed up by lightning strikes from above which turned the sky into a cloudy dark rainy clouds.
After he did that, Kaido sensed movement coming down below the earth, as his eyes constricted into a dot, as he quickly jumped up into the air, just in time to avoid getting punctured through and caught by the roots that seemingly popped out of nowhere. But as he was floating in midair looking at the roots that dared to attack him, he then sensed another movement coming from the side, as he saw a spear getting thrown towards him direction which forced him to quickly put up his barrier and fend off the attack himself.
However upon contact with the thrown spear, Kaido was shot down from the air, due to the force that the spear had carried which was equivalent to getting hit by a moving bullet train. As he got shot down, Kaido then saw the treant rushing up towards him with a halberd made out of wood on its hand, with an intention to cut him apart upon reaching his location.
Realizing this, Kaido quickly flipped his body in his mid fall, as he readied himself to charged forward upon landing to the ground. No matter what the treant before him is a huge threat to the success of this operation, so no matter what he do, he must get rid of such monster.
In that sense, just as Kaido landed on the ground, he then charged towards the treant monster rushing up to him as he gathered flame into his right palm and waited for the exact moment to counter the attack, coming from the enemy itself.
As Kaido got near towards the treant monster, the treant itself then gripped its halberd with two hands as it swung it forward with an attempt to behead its target. However Kaido quickly saw through this attempt as he quickly ducked his head to dodge the attack, before he placed his right hand unto the stomach area of the monster and blasted him with flames that are as hot as a molten lava
Blasting the treant away with one quick counter, Kaido then swept up the surroundings, as he formed a huge ice cap to trap the treant in ice, as he quickly aimed the psychic energy towards his target as he gathered both lightning, wind, and earth to enact a highly destructive whirl wind that is aimed towards the enemy.
As he launched such an attack, the wind the razed everything that it passes, as the lighting further enhanced its destructives and the earth itself just added on the power of the attack itself. In just the first contact the ice was razed through by the attack, as the treant got caught up by such skill and was dragged along the forced o0f the wind which caused numerous explosion to rung up into the surroundings.
However the struggles doesn't end there, as the treant got ahold of his consciousness, it then begun to summon roots out from the ground below and obstruct the flow of power of the attack that Kaido had created. by puncturing the wind in multiple areas with a highly durable root, it can easily break the momentum of the attack which weakened its force and gave way for the treant to recover from its outburst.
In that sense, Kaido was surprised at the feat that the treant had achieved as he didn't expect such a monster to have knowledge on how to obstruct the flow of his attack, and much less actually neutralize it. Such quick decision making skills is something he had not seen before in a monster and not an intelligent race. If such monster did showcased such intelligence, then perhaps everything that the player's know inside the dungeon would soon change.
With an intelligent monster present inside a dungeon, the difficulty of the dungeon itself would rise to a whole new degree, to the point that it would be able to use human tactics and cunningness to eliminate any players inside the dungeon and if they are smart enough, then perhaps they could find a way to kill the player without giving them a chance to revive outside a dungeon. A permanent death per say.
With death having a chance to be permanent, the benefit of the players that they often exploit would now be gone which would make the world of the players have a drastic change as fear elude their mind whenever they enter a dungeon. All in all it would be a chaos.
As the fight goes on, the treant then begun to attack even more fiercer, as it charged towards Kaido in supersonic speed, while raising its halberd into the sky and slash it down towards him. In response to this, Kaido then quickly puts multiple walls in between them in attempt to block the attack, as his walls collided with the blade of the treants halberd.
Upon collision, another explosion rung out towards the surroundings, as the walls itself got cut in half from the power of the slash alone, which left Kaido dumbfounded and wounded, as his shoulder down to his abdomen got cut by the shockwave of the slash. Everything happened so fast, that Kaido somewhat underestimated the attack at the very last moment and deemed the multi layered walls to be enough to block the attack while he prepares for a huge counter. Never did he expect that such an attack would produce a powerful shockwave which was sharp enough to actually cut his walls like paper and injure him in the blink of an eye.
Of course such wound itself wouldn't bring him down at all. After all with his esper ability, he could easily regenerate his cells on his wounded body and easily patch up himself back to his perfect state. However before he could even do such a thing, the treant then used this momentum that it had created, as it lifted its halberd above its shoulder and slashed once more a sharp shockwave towards Kaido.
As the shockwave literally destroyed what remains of his walls, Kaido quickly set up multiple psychic barrier as his defenses collided with the attack, which left him hearing his own barrier crack down from its force alone. Upon sensing his barrier breaking down, he then concentrated even more on his own barrier as his strengthened its defenses to a whole new level and somewhat repelled the force with pure sheer will.
But that didn't there at all, as the treant itself charged forward with an intent to kill after noticing its attack got blocked successfully. Raising its halberd once more, the treant then came in for the kill, as Kaido lowered his left arm and begun to control something from deep beneath the ground.
The moment the treant got close towards Kaido's proximity, a huge earthen hand rose up from the ground as it grabbed ahold of the treant like a piece of cloth, and begun slamming it down towards various obstacle like a ragdoll itself. While Kaido was controlling the huge earthen hand, he simultaneously produced a spear made up of plutonium, and begun to search for any opening he could exploit to throw in the radioactive weapon he had created.
Plutonium is a radioactive chemical element with the symbol Pu and atomic number 94. It is an actinide metal of silvery-gray appearance that tarnishes when exposed to air, and forms a dull coating when oxidized. In order to not let it coat itself, Kaido expelled the oxygen around his other free hand which is currently creating the plutonium spear and used psychics energy around his palm in order to protect his hand from its radiation.
Plutonium is a dangerous substance that has been used in explosives for a long time. It is released into the atmosphere primarily by atmospheric testing of nuclear weapons and by accidents at weapon production sites. Because it emits alpha particles, plutonium is most dangerous when inhaled. When plutonium particles are inhaled, they lodge in the lung tissue. The alpha particles can kill lung cells, which causes scarring of the lungs, leading to further lung disease and cancer.
With such danger in mind, he then tried his best to bring his target away from his group as he plans to release the plutonium unto the enemy and create a mini nuclear. With that he had a perfect idea on where he could drag the treant away while also completing the mission.
With the idea in mind, Kaido then controlled the earthen hand, as it headed towards the huge tree in the middle of the domain with an attempt to take down two birds in one stone. But before the earthen hand could fully get towards the huge tree, it then sensed the intent of the enemy, as it broke through the earthen hand using pure strength and even shattered it by using multiple slash attacks.
Because of that, Kaido then had no choice but to launch himself into the air and give the treant a one huge kick towards the tree itself. But the moment he successfully kicked the treant towards the tree, the treant itself then quickly reached out towards him, as it grabbed his ankle and dragged him from crashing towards the tree itself.
In that moment Kaido noticed how dire his situation is, as he realized that if he released the plutonium spear now, he himself would get caught by the explosion and somewhat suffer from radiation itself. What's more the treant noticed how dangerous the spear was, as it begun to fight him against it, and tried to take the spear off his hand.
In order to not let the monster steal the dangerous weapon from him, Kaido then had no choice but to grabbed ahold of the spear with his own hand which caused his palm to sizzle in agony just from touching it alone. In that moment he could even feel the cells in his hand begun to burn, decay, mutate, and even turn into something horrible just from touching it alone. Of course the treant itself noticed it too the moment it touches the spear itself, but due to its determination, it didn't let go of the spear as it continuously tried to wrestle for supremacy of the spear.
Kaido knew that if this goes on, the treant would be able to steal the spear from him and use it against him. With no other choice, Kaido immediately used his psychic force to break out from the treants grasp, as he got himself and the monster crash unto the tree. After that he then proceeded to stabbed the treant in its shoulder, as the monster choked him by the neck, and forced Kaido to immediately detonate the spear itself.
With one intent a huge radioactive explosion rung out on the huge chuck of the tree, which shook the ground and disturb the life around the tree itself.
Since radiation is dangerous to any living being, the treants who were occupying Lilia, Shelly and Alessandro, then begun to sense the state of the tree, as they all ignored Lilia and her friends and rush towards the tree's aid. Sensing the radiation, the tree itself released a S.O.S signal towards the surroundings as it felt that its life was threatened by the invaders of its domain.
Since the tree was still able to issue a command towards its spawns, the attack itself was then proved to not be enough, as the explosion simply tore a hole in the tree, which can be deemed a major wound but not fatal at all. As long as the tree kept absorbing the mana in the air, it will soon regenerate itself back to full health and remove the radiation in its body
While the tree was slowly repairing itself, Kaido on the other hand was lying down on the base of the tree, with his whole skin burned and emitting radiation itself. Thanks to his psychic barrier he was able to avoid death, but was exposed to the dangerous radiation in exchange for his effort but such radiation is easily ignored as long as Kaido could heal himself using matter manipulation.
Since radiation is made out of matter, he could easily dispel the radiation itself out of his body and return back to his original state.
Even though he failed in taking down the tree in one attack, he on the other hand was able to destroy the intelligent monster and decimate its body into particles itself. As long as he got rid of such an annoying monster, he would be able to deal with everything else and end this charade of a fight.
