Chapter 5 - Chapter 4- Day Two!

As I look around the room, I tilt my head, clearing my throat before speaking. "What's going on? Why am I being watched? Jess looked at me confused as if I had done something. She was the first to speak up "You were talking in your sleep, mumbling the same phrase repeatedly. We were trying to decode what you were saying but we don't know the language, you gave us a good scare there" She laughed as the mood in the room seemed to lighten up a bit.

Id look around still confused. "Well if I was speaking it, I might know what it means, mind telling me what I said?"

She nodded and took a second to think before starting to repeat the phrase "I think it was something like… Quod solum digni sint intrare memento doloris et mortuus est in medio… Vos scitis quanta ego et quid sit futurum, omnia necesse est habeatur, sed adhuc non recordabor. Ad accipere coronam est, princeps est dissipabitur multitudo eius. A pugna ad vesperam facti sunt cavae ad acinum non comedent. Cum nox fit dux nova surgit lux solis caeruleo."

Id tilt my head "You were able to summon a familiar, but you don't know basic Latin?" Id laugh a bit "Now that's interesting"

She laughed "Well translate it already would you!"

Id nod as I started to piece the words together, mumbling it to myself quietly as the vague memories of the creature clouded my mind with each word. "Only the worthy may enter… Remember the pain in dead center… no... I don't know that bit it'll take more time to translate…'' Id sigh as I try to decode the rest completely missing the most of it "For when the night is done, the new ruler will rise in the light of the… blue sun…" The faint memories quickly faded, and I was left a bit stumped except for the part about the blue sun. Did it... have anything to do with my flames?

Jess laughs and stands up "You've got some weird dreams Eris! But come on! If we get to the dining hall early, we will get all the good stuff!" she laughed again as she ran out of the room, a few of the other contestants following close behind. I'd wait till everyone was gone from the dorm before starting to go to the dining hall, tying the blue jacket around my waist as I walked quickly making my way to the dining hall.

Jess's voice could be heard clearly as I entered the room, it was large and not to surprisingly quite fancy. There were two tables for each team, all with the color of the team they represented. I went over to the blue teams table, watching Jess jump and dance on the table. Id laugh before going to get something to eat. There was a surprising amount of choices, some of them I had never seen before. After grabbing a tray, I just get a bit of bread and a random meat with some cheese to go along with it. I'd sit down at one of the empty blue tables since everyone was just surrounding the table Jess was singing and dancing on. With a quiet laugh I'd take a bite out of the bread, reaching for my backpack. Damn I left it in the room. You've got to be kidding me, I left my bag in the room? I'd sigh and open a small warp gate under the table, pulling the bag through as I look around the room. It's a good thing everyone is to distracted by Jess that I wasn't noticed. I pulled a small vile of bluish purple liquid that seemed to have a slight shimmer in the light. Id quickly open it and down the whole vile before mumbling "This better help with the blood shit like Ezra said..."

Looking over at the table again id grin, digging through the bag and pulling out another vile. "Perfect stuff for clearing a room..." Id examine the vile before opening a warp gate above Jess's crowded table, throwing the vile in and shooting a small flame after it to activate the substance.

A large explosion of a greenish blue smoke covered the table and the smell of burning sage and filled the dining hall. Perfect shot. As I hid my backpack they'd all run out of the smoke coughing and looking around confused.

The other teams started pouring into the dining hall looking at the lingering colored smoke. It took all I had to keep from laughing as I watched everyone entering the dining hall taking mental notes on them.

I quickly caught sight of Ezra and gestured him over, yawning slightly as he walked over followed by his older sister Ari. "Ello Ez, what's up?"

"Meh, nothin much E... You seen Ari? I think she might have been eliminated" He flashed a smile as I watched behind him, grinning a bit as I spoke.

"Oh no I'm very sure she's here" I'd laugh a bit and turn back to the table, laying my head down before speaking again to hive Ezra a hint, "Hey Ari, totally didn't see you there"

Ezra spun around quickly as his tail was pulled by the girl behind him. They looked almost nothing alike for being fully related, Ari was blonde, tall, and very smart. She looked more like a fox kitsune then him, she had almost no dark colors, just blond and pure, snowy, white with beautiful sapphire eyes that seemed to reflect the sea itself. Ezra on the other hand was barely taller then me, he has the icy cyan blue and black coloration like his father and he looks more like an ice kitsune, which he is. He's not all that smart in quick thinking situations and it can be very awkward to hang around him sometimes.

All that was heard through the dining hall was talking from the tables, laughter, and of course Ezra and Ari yelling at each other. It never gets to violent with them two beyond a few harsh words here and there and some insults. Id watch everyone, still taking notes and analyzing the other contestants. Not many of us would make it through the finals and that will either be by elimination or in the worst case… Death… There really hadn't been a death here in a while but it isn't inevitable since the last test is a tournament. Really just a test of strength, agility, reaction, and endurance, it won't be that difficult with what we do at home…

I can't really remember my original home though… Mother always said she just found me passed out in the woods not even a year ago… She doesn't like me to show my horns, tail, or markings, she says its for my own good, so I have a glamour on to cover them, but it doesn't seem to work on the markings. I never knew why that was...

I stood up and started walking out of the dining hall although I felt like I was being watched... Out of the corner of my eye as I turn away the shadows always feel like they're moving, or am I just paranoid? Yeah, I'll go with that.

I start to wander around the halls to get more of a sense of where everything is, the hallways seemed to loop yet go on forever. There are guards by certain doors and it just feels off, it almost feels as if we are in prison. I figured I could walk for a while since the morning break lasts until sometime around 11. I look around a bit more before going back to the room and just sitting on my bed, pulling off bits of the bandage to examine my markings as usual. The jet-black marks look almost like tattoos though I've had them as long as I can remember, mother said I've had them ever since she found me that day… I remember it almost as if it were yesterday. I quickly zoned out, lost in my old memories and mumbling to myself, not noticing the silent watcher in the corner.
