The last thing I remember before entering the comatic slumber is speaking to a god…
"Where am I?" looking in the emptiness where only darkness was present, the suffocating feeling I DECLARED to be loneliness and sadness
I heard a kind voice calling me after what felt like an eternity of floating in the nothingness.
"Awake, Ningen"
Opening my eyes to the sound of the voice as if to realize that it is not another mirage trying to play with my hopes.
Prying my mouth open just to learn that not a sound comes out of it.
"Ningen, use your thoughts to confer your words"
"Who are you?"
I searched with my eyes only to see that what was once all black is now a white room, almost blinding.
"Well, I am Bishamonten the god of war"
In consideration that he was not showing himself felt suspicious, but then again, how long has it been since I heard another person's voice.
"Bishamonten-sama, am … am I dead?"
"Yes, you have passed away quite some time ago, though it was our actions that caused the end of you"
The voice sounded somewhat regretful to mention my demise
I closed my eyes trying to process what deep down I already knew but just the act of being told that you are actually DEAD does impact you.
After 15 minutes, I opened my eyes to find a young man standing right in front of me, startled I staggered backward.
Dressed in black attire, with twin swords on his waist, I can't deny, the man could bring down the destruction of cities with the beauty of his face.
"Bishamonten-sama, now what? Why hasn't my soul dissipated or reincarnated, why am I stuck here?"
"Ningen you are not stuck I placed you here"
Hearing his words filled me with rage and sorrow, trying to go through my memories as to find the sinful act that I had committed to receiving punishment but there was none, none that could lead to this punishment.
"Ningen you are not being punished, due to the war between gods… You are a casualty of the carelessness of us"
So… I'm a casualty
"Then why? Why leave me here?"
"It was for your soul to strengthen itself; you see this is a realm filled with void power"
Bishamonten sat on a cloud that appeared out of thin air, gesturing for me to sit as well.
"I am to send you to a different realm and world as compensation for our error, but as your soul was hit with kami power it weakened significantly if I'd send you as that you would not have survived the transfer let alone the reincarnation into the body that has been prepared for you"
"I see"
"Your soul is now strong enough to pass through and I will bestow a strong blessing on you"
Bishamonten-sama leaned forward and pecked my forehead, I felt warmth spread across my body and my vision blurred but the last thing I heard him say
"Live well, warrior"
My body felt light and ticklish
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oiiiiii human wake up!!"
A high-pitched voice rang in my head making my eyes open wide.
In a throne sat what I assumed to be a male god
"Stand and come close so that I can determine what to do to you!"
Starting to approach I heard him diss me.
At the next moment, a suffocating constricting sensation came over my body
In the blink of an eye, I was presented before the God that looked at me as if looking at an insect.
"It was noble of you to push that person out of the way in which a soul vanquishing spell was cast"
Even though the words coming out of his mouth should have sounded like praises…
All I heard was mirth as if the action was foolish
Well, it was maybe, in the eyes of others, even if I can no longer remember that person's face I know for a fact that he was important.
"Bishamon has gone through a lot of trouble to bring you here"
Disgust, anger and then mirth that is all that this God is showing towards me
"The body that has been made by him is ready, I have nothing to do with you and thus shall not receive blessings from me"
After that, the pressure around me intensified and I disappeared from the throne room
"They kill, I can understand that but even so, it is always expected of me to fix their errors"
"Rhamnusia-sama, it must be exhausting having to handle their errors"
A man dressed as butler came forth with a teapot
"This shall be the last"
....
I felt as if I was falling from out the sky, awaiting the moment I'd hit the ground.
Startled by the feeling, I woke up in a room. "Where am I?" just then a splitting headache hit me, information was being poured into my head endlessly.
Ah, now I remember I was dead but now. I stood from the stone table I was placed on
Every move felt painful my throat was dry. The air I inhaled scrapped my airways.
It seems this body has been in this place for quite a long time, I need water or I won't hold it for long
From the information that was smashed into my head, there is something called canis vitae, in other words, water.
"Okay let's try 'CANIS VITAE' it's water!!!" I gulped down every single drop I had produced and
I could feel the water refreshing my totality.
Stumbling I got up my steps were unsteady but if I were to stay here, I'll end up in some monsters' stomach. The protection cast on this place had been deactivated the moment I awoke, to put it bluntly, they're leaving me on my own now.
My hands were slender with long delicate fingers since there was no mirror or any surface I could reflect myself from my appearance was unknown to me. The hair on this body was long till it reached my knees, it had the same color as the moon.
My chest felt heavy well I can't complain this body's features are visibly good.
At the corner of my eyes, I saw a black bulge. 'Ah it seems there was someone here before'
Since there was nothing more than a black robe on a pile of bones "Well it is better than being bare I guess. I'm sorry, I'll pray for you as repayment for the robe" I draped it on my body and walked through the tunnels.
Guiding myself by placing my hand on the wall I concluded that this must be a maze of some sort, this place is too dark and there are a few rocks or plants that emit a faint light but it is not enough, not for my sight at least.
I wanted to bring one of those rocks or plants with me, but I didn't know if it was safe to touch, after all, pretty things tend to be deadly no matter where you are. "mmm, how could I forget. I know there is something like an appraisal skill but how do you use it?... "
"Appraise!!!" Nothing pop out "That was embarrassing I'm so glad there's no one around"
"Stats?!...Review?!.... [Open status]?!.."
'Ping'
A screen appeared in the range of my eyesight
Peit
A rock composed of several minerals and bacteria that permit it to
Irradiate light.
[Warning]
Contains paralyzing poison
"Of course, it's poisonous"
Rolling my eyes, I continue down the dark desolate tunnels, at first, I felt no fear of the place but then strange sounds started summing up growls, gurgles and other sounds I didn't recognize.
The further I walked the more the temperature dropped, my body commenced to shiver and even in this darkness, I could see my breath. I started to feel numb, I had lost track of how much time I had been walking for, but if I stopped that would be the end with no food.
"GRRRRRUUUUU"
I turned my head hesitantly only to be greeted with an enormous beast it was at least three-meter tall. Paralyzed by the fear I stood immobile.
Until a familiar sound came
"Ping"
[Berserk Giant Wolf]
Level:110
HP:800/800
MP:360/360
SKILLS: [Wind Fang][Intimidating Roar][Presence obscuration][Poison Claw].
The sound snapped me out of it but I was a little too late he slashed at me with [Poison Claw]it sliced my back leaving a deep wound 'ugh" from my mouth started dripping blood. I ran as fast as I could but to no avail then, it hit me, that stupid god didn't have any intention of helping me, did he…
Screw him!!!!!
An idea came to mind, I have mana. I stopped faced the beast and exclaimed at the top of my lungs
[Dark Blaze] A black colored flame appeared on my left hand. Once I saw my success I directed it towards the beast.
The beast whined in pain but soon enough it fell and burned to ash. The blood in my back didn't stop flowing and my mind was turning dark but if I let my conscious go, there was no telling if another Giant wolf would appear.
I continued through the tunnels encountering different varieties of beasts, it was easier to deal with the loner beast, but wishful thinking, in the end, was wishful.
Packs of twin-tailed foxes lashed at me with [Sharp Claw]over and over, it didn't manner where I turned, I would end up being ambushed.
Then the famous 'Ping resounded in my mind
