Chapter 15 - The Contract

Rahul's POV

As expected she didn't even bother to knock the door before coming into my cabin, instead, the door was flung open and she stomped into my cabin without any warning with her sleeves rolled up until her elbow. To say that she was furious would be an understatement. " What are these papers suppose to mean MR RANAWAT ?" she said while throwing a bunch of papers on my desk. If I wasn't Rahul Singh Ranawat, I surely would have got intimidated by her deathly glares.

But as you know me being me, I didn't give two f*cks about it. " They are exactly what you think they are Ms Diya," I said maintaining my calm demeanour. " Don't play dumb Mr Ranawat. I want a proper explanation" she said while gritting her teeth.

" Are you illiterate or you're really that dumb! Don't you know that you can't resign the job until your contract ends? Then why did you even bothered to send me a resignation letter? " I said in a matter-of-fact-tone. " But the last time I remembered, I didn't sign any f*cking contract! " she whisper yelled. I chuckled and told her that " Ms Diya, that's what you think but I think you have forgotten who your boss really is. It's ok, I will take the pleasure to remind you. I am Rahul Singh Ranawat, known to make the impossible, possible. Yes! You are right, you didn't sign any such contracts but it doesn't matter. Whether you sign it or not, the thing is that now this contract has your signature and you have to work for me. Simple. If you want to breach the contract, you exactly know that what will be the consequences"

Yeah, take that wild cat!

" YOU ARE IMPOSSIBLE! This is a forgery. How could you do something like this? I didn't know that you could step so low for a mere revenge" she said while still being in a state of shock.

"It's your wish Diya. You could either work for me or go to prison for breaching the contract. See I am being so generous with you, I have never given people the option to choose what they want. I usually give them orders to follow but since you're special, I am giving you an offer" I said while smirking.

I am so f*cking enjoying this. To see her being helpless. This is just the beginning angry bird, the real game hasn't started yet.

" I am not going to be your prey Mr Ranawat! I know better. I am going to-" before she completed her ranting I cut her off. " You're going to what? To the cops? To complain that I did forgery?" I said raising my left eyebrow. She gave me a how-do-you-know-look. " C' mon Diya you said you know better. If I could get your signatures on this contract, how long would it actually take me to prove that you are plotting against me and my company? Do you really think that they would actually believe your innocence? Money speaks everywhere Diya! I think by now you should have known that" I said while smirking.

You have to work for me angry bird. There is no escaping or turning back. Get ready for the ride Diya. The ride which is going to drive you insane.

" No, no no....this couldn't be happening. I have to find a way out of this" she murmured which didn't go unnoticed by me.

Trust me Diya there is not going to be 'a way out of this' until I get my revenge.

" I don't understand why are you so apprehensive about this? You just have to work for me until the contract ends. That's all. Why are you overthinking about it? After all, its a contract saying you must work for me for 4 months, not a marriage contract" I scoffed.

Her eyes went wide after listening to the word marriage and I saw an unknown expression swirling in her eyes. I couldn't really identify those emotions. There was a mix of emotions but the most obvious one was FEAR. I don't understand why the word 'marriage' terrified her that much. She was in deep thoughts until I snapped my finger in front of her face.

" Back to earth," I said while chuckling. " Already dreaming about you marrying me? Do you want me to make it come true?" I said while smirking. She was shaking in anger and balled her hand into a fist. She gave me a death glare and punched the wall near her with so much force. Blood was oozing out from her knuckles but she was still glaring at me.

" What the hell Diya! You're bleeding" I said while trying to grab her wrist. " That I always am," she said and stormed out of the office before I could even grab her wrist.

Did she got hit on her head during childhood? Yeah, that must have happened. What was the need to hurt herself anyway? I don't understand what triggered her to do so. Man....she sure is mysterious.

Diya's POV

After the argument with that Jerk, I came to my cabin and started cleaning my wound with the first aid kit from my drawer.

I really need to find a way to manage my anger until I am done with this stupid contract. Yes, you heard me right. I am ready to face him. I am going to work for him and I am going to get over with this ridiculous contract. There will be no point in talking to him. He is just going to be the Jerk that he has always been.

While cleaning my wound, I started wincing in pain. The wound was so deep. I really regretted hurting myself. But I always get alarmed and triggered whenever I hear the word 'marriage'. For others, it might be a seven letter word which starts with the alphabet' and which ends with 'E' but for me, it's not just a word. That single word has haunted me for the past 13 years. I am still having nightmares because of that word. It brings me memories of incidents that took place 13 years back.

I stared at the wall in front me blankly without blinking my eyes while the tears that I was holding for such a long time, finally started showing up. The tears didn't just stain my face, they also stained my heart. When the salty liquid touched my wound, I felt numb because it didn't pain. It didn't pain at all because the pain in my heart was far beyond it.

I hope I could forget whatever happened 13 years ago but who am I kidding. The memories will never fade until I am holding on to my last breath.

I closed my eyes, as a lone tear rolled over my right cheek and all those dark memories started replaying in my mind.
