Chapter 3 - The Outcome of the Fight

The fight between 100 years old Stone Skin Racoon and the 100 years old Silver Wing Moon Owl lasted until the dawn of daybreak, with neither side gaining any significant advantage over the other. However, in the end, the 100 years old Stone Skin Racoon is the only one that had suffered such a great heavy loss.

Its own right arm was completely shredded, ripped apart, and being impaled by numerous feather darts of the Silver Wing Moon Owl, completely mutilated beyond recognition.

The right arm has become pretty much unusable, becoming permanently crippled and disfigured, with the motor cognitive functions of the arm completely ceased functioning, due to the most likely disconnection of the nervous system in the arm that is interconnected to the spinal cord, carrying along with its instruction and pieces of information to and from the brain.

Dragging along what seems to be the remains of its right arm would definitely be a hassle, considering that it is now worthless, it would only become dead weight. So the 100 years old Stone Skin Racoon then amputated what is left of its right arm, utilising its sharp fangs to rip apart its own right arm from the shoulder point, sawing it completely off from its own main body, and so forth.

The sight of the 100 years old Stone Skin Racoon chewing its own right arm off, it was quite grotesque to behold, but it is not beyond reasoning.

'Oooh...' Yao Zi thought so to himself, as he grimaced strongly, shrinking his eyelids slightly.

After amputating its own right arm, the 100 years old Stone Skin Racoon then throws its own severed right arm towards the 100 years old Silver Wing Moon Owl, in terms of distracting it with an exquisitely perfect free meal that is laid out right before it.

The 100 years old Silver Wing Moon Owl nonchalantly accepted its competently deserved victory and taking the severed right arm of the 100 years old Stone Skin Racoon as its prized loot.

The 100 years old Silver Wing Moon Owl nevertheless conceded, promising not to escalate the matter further, it was contented with whatever it could get. As it had survived on its own for so long, being capable of making correct decisions, and deciding not to go against creatures that are definitely way stronger than it.

The moment that the 100 years old Stone Skin Racoon threw away its discarded severed right arm, it immediately retreated back into the outer area of the Star Dou forest and fled away into the receding night for safety.

On the other hand, the 100 years old Silver Wing Moon Owl decided to stay behind, for a couple of seconds. Having picked up its victory spoils, it then flaps its wings strongly thereby creating a gust of wind, before ascending towards the sky, as it flew back towards its nest before daybreak fully sets in.

In the meantime, Yao Zi was left all alone to himself, as he watched it all unravelled right before his eyes. From midnight to dawn, watching two-spirit beast going toe to toe with each other.

'It was certainly exhilarating and exciting to watch it all happened right before my eyes.' Yao Zi commented, heaving a sigh of relief, as he started to feel slightly tired, having stayed up all night watching the fight going on.

However, an unexpected occurrence has successfully managed to caught Yao Zi's interest, as Yao Zi's little snake nostril has strongly detected the scent of fresh blood. And a chunk of fresh meat that was ripped out from the shoulder of the 100 years old Stone Skin Racoon then enters his line of sight.

'Meat.' Yao Zi thought to himself, as he then glares intently at the chunk that is laid on the ground.

It was roughly about two or three feet away from him, and Yao Zi was being extremely cautious as he quickly extends his fork snake tongue out, trying to get a whiff of the scent in the air.

After a minute, where there were no one life signs detected within the facility of his surroundings, Yao Zi then deems it to be quite safe to come out from hiding and steadily approaches the discarded chunk of meat.

Like a vicious snake, after finding a delicious meal and prey, he would gobble it all up without a second of thought.

After which, he would go back to his hiding spot in the bushes and wait for the meal that lies within his stomach to digest. He then slept through the entire morning hours, until the sun has fully risen towards the centre of the sky, as noon vastly approaches was he decided then to wake up.

[You have consumed the flesh of a 100 (97) years old Stone Skin Racoon! Plus 5 blood essence points!]

[The title 'Scavenger' has been acquired! Through the acquisition of the title 'Scavenger' plus 1 stats attributes points to all attribute stats!]

After waking up, Yao Zi then discovered that he has managed to obtain a few blood essence points from consuming a piece of flesh from the 100 years old Stone Skin Racoon. He also gained a title 'Scavenger' that literally boosts all of his attribute stats.

'Cool! A new title!' Yao Zi thought so to himself.

In order to pass the time, Yao Zi then continues to cultivate, dedicating his free time in order to further improve himself. So as his reserve of spiritual power gradually expanded exponentially over a short period of time.

Unlike the usual typical spirit beasts who would gradually grow stronger over time, whether it is through hunting and honing their skills over time. Yao Zi focuses on the path of cultivation, which only most spirit beast with some slight intelligence better than the average wild beast would indeed possess.

[Through practice meditation your spiritual power has been increased by 1 point!]

After a while, Yao Zi's fork snake tongue has detected the movement and scent of another individual, or much smaller spirit beast. Perhaps an insect type spirit beasts, or so he thought.

So Yao Zi then decided to slowly slither on towards the location of where the sound is likely originating from. Quietly as possible, as not to alert the little creature, and immediately gave away his presence.

Yao Zi's little snakehead slowly then peaks out from underneath the bush leaves, and he immediately caught sight of the little insect type spirit beast, that he made the target of his next little hunt. It turns out to be a sort of butterfly look-alike spirit beast, its wingspan is roughly around 2-2.5 inches long, with bright vivid green colours.

'Oh, it's a butterfly. I've never eaten an insect before, in my entire life.' Or so Yao Zi thought, as he then smiles mischievously.

The 10 (27) years old Green Monarch Butterfly has vivid green coloured wings, a clear indicator that it is hazardous or either poisonous. Usually in the wild, creatures that are born with bright coloured skin are quite often dangerous, a clear indicator that they are poisonous, like the native Earth Poison Dart Frog.

The 10 years old Green Monarch Butterfly may not be actually poisonous, but its Green Monarch Butterfly wings carry a strong toxin, as when it is ingested into the body or through inhalation would cause temporary paralysis in the body for hours, and that is the dosage for an average size human being. And any creature smaller than that could possibly suffer from a great dealy of a possible organ failure.

And so when the 10 years old Green Monarch Butterfly slowly approaches Yao Zi's location, Yao Zi's little snake body then pounces out right underneath his hiding spot.

His long fork snake tongue swatting large 10 years old Green Monarch Butterfly out of the sky, as the creature landed hardly against the ground, in which Yao Zi then pounces on top of the 10 years old Green Monarch Butterfly's body.

In one fell swoop, Yao Zi then his mouth wide and swallowed the 10 years old Green Monarch Butterfly whole.

Yao Zi then retreated back to his hiding spot in the deepest depths of bushes, but before he could fully get there, the toxin of the 10 years old Green Monarch Butterfly has therefore entered his system and completely take effect. Yao Zi's body has then ceased to stop functioning properly, and he then froze on the spot.

The feeling is akin to getting an electric shock, as your central nervous system is temporarily blocked, thereby causing certain irregularities in your bodies movements and preventing them from functioning properly.

'Damnit! Was that butterfly that I've just eaten actually poisonous. What stupid luck did I have?' Yao Zi thought so to himself, as he then curses his own sense of bad luck.
