Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

Borgy was working hard to remove all the wildfire from beneath the city. Cersei must've gone barmy to have ordered the alchemists to manufature the wildfire in such large quantities.

He worked exactly as Edwyn had instructed and his instructions had prevented any and all mishaps. Despite Edwyn's absence, he didn't let his faith in theprince dwindle.

"Careful with the crates! Once this batch ts taken care of, you all rest for the day!"

"Working hard as ever, Borgy."

The man's eyes grew wider than ever when he recognized the voice. He immediately knelt down greeted, "Your Grace!"

"Get up, Borgy. I feel pride when I think of you. From a cut throat or the leader of a organization working for the betterment of King's Landing, you've come a long way."

Borgy got up and replied while looking at Edwyn with reverence, "It's all because of you, your grace. Is it finally time?"

Edwyn sighed and said, "Unfortunately not. There's a threat in the far north that needs to be taken care of."

Borgy was saddened but didn't dwell upon it as Edwyn continued saying, "I've found the one who will rule over the seven kingdoms in the future."

"Your Grace! I.. no.. King's Landing will not accept anyone else as their king other than you! It's in your wait that a civil revolt hasn't begun!"

"I understand, Borgy. But I do not wish to be the king."

Borgy dropped down on his kneees and pleaded, "Your Grace.. I am a lowly servent. You can have my head for this but neither I nor anyone else in the entire city will acknowledge another ruler in your stead even if it kills us. The mere thought of you fills us with power. You name unites us and makes us believe in a future far better than we could imagine. I implore you, Your Grace.. Don't give up on us.."

The man's plea shook something inside Edwyn. He had sent a clone to King's Landing to ensure everything was going as planned and the faith the people had in him hadn't dwindled. But, he never thought it would soar so high.

Edwyn was startled to a stop when memories from his clone hit him like a hammer.

'I always thought of bringing the purge to Westeros.'

Remembering Borgy's face and his tears reminded him of his past life.

As Naruto, he strived to gain the trust the general populace of Konoha.

But, in this life, it was the people who acknowledged him. He owed them a better future.

'I gave up on this world before even trying to improve it.'

Edwyn remembered... '.. If there's such a thing as peace in this world then I'll find it.'

"No.. I tried and found peace.. but it was short lived. Why is it that we have to work so hard for the good while evil and malice comes so easily to us?"

A short distance ahead was tavern. He could hear laughter of men that hid the pleas of a girl and an old man.

Edwyn stormed inside the tavern and saw as the men were half way through tearing the girl's clothes. The men were wearing armour with Lannister colors.

Enraged, he drew his sword and charged at the men.

The soldiers scrambled towards their swords and tried ro fight back but they were nothing in front of Edwyn.

As the angered prince slew their leader by splitting him in half, the others pled for mercy. Edwyn, momentarily looked at the girl whom they were going to rape and her expression sealed their fate.

"Arm yourselves!" Edwyn yelled.

As they all charged at him, he placed his sward back in it's sheath and crushed them with his bare hands!

As the last of them tried to run away, Edwyn tackled him to the ground and pummeled his face into the ground!

Bathed in blood and breathing hard, Edwyn unhooked a pouch from his waist and gave it to the old man.

"For the damages."

As he was washing his armour and face in the nearby stream, his mind was clouded with anger and thoughts of a bloody purge.

As he called down, he recalled the time he used to think he could never love again. He was a broken shell of a man until Daenerys forced her way into his heart and cured it.

Daenerys, his siblings, Borgy and his men and all the people of King's Landing... they were woth the effort. He owed them for believing in him.

Edwyn sighed and looked up in the sky.

'Perhaps... there is a middle ground. Westeros has elements that disgust me to the core. But, for the lives of those who just want to live peacefully, I can curb my lust for blood and battle. There are things that can only be done if I am the king. From the moment I was born as a royal and acknowledged by King's Landing, their lives became my responsibility. I can't run away. I'm not a coward.'

His mind was finally set.

Edwyn Baratheon had actively entered the game and he was determined to win.

(NAGOT)

It felt like an eternity for her ever since she stopped smiling and for good reason too.

Three years... She wished her father had rejected the king's offer. When Sandor Clagane took her away from her friends, Arya wanted nothing more than to stick the needle inside him.

She was filled hate and anger. Yet, there was hope for happiness as the large man had decided to take her to Rob and her mother, Catelyn, for a reward.

But, it was destroyed. Betrayed by the Freys, Rob and Catelyn were brutally murdered. They didn't even give Rob a funeral. Sewing Rob's body to his wolf's head... Arya remembered it all and she vowed to avenge her family.

She was beginning to forgive Sandor when the two were stopped by a rider.

He wasn't wearing the Lannister or the Frey armour. There was something familiar about him but Sandor was quick to recognize the rider.

"You!" Sandor exclaimed in fear.

The rider replied, "Hm.. Clagane.. I never thought you would run away. But, I guess your fear of fire was great enough to make you abandon that cunt, Joffrey."

That voice! Arya could never forget it.

The man glanced her with his blood red eyes and that assured her of his identity.

"The little wolf is still alive and has bared her fangs already? Westeros has brought the worse out of you."

Edwyn dismounted his horse and looked into Sandor's fearful eyes and said, "Run along now. I'll be taking her to the wall, where her brother is."

Then he looked at her and asked, "How would you like to continue your water dancing training? I can feel that you strive for vengeance. Let me make you a warrior capable of toppling kingdoms."

Arya frowned and asked, "Why?"

"For Syrio.. and for your father."
