After eating his dinner, Klaus decided to go and visit the supply room. It had been a while since he came here, he wanted to check if the weapon he invented from before he took a break were already in stock. He exited the hall and walked towards the direction of the supply room. However, on his way he noticed a room with the door slightly ajar. What surprised him more was that this room did exist based in his previous knowledge, he memorized the building structure of all the seven preceptories in the seven city gates, also there was no news that there were any renovations on going.
Cautiously approaching the room, a faint murmur was heard from the inside. The voice seemed arguing about something, he tried listening but could not make any sense of it, besides if he wants to he can use his own ability to gather the information if necessary. But he found it absurd for he did not feel any malicious intent coming from the room. As he no longer wants to waste his time and was about to leave for he find it rude to eavesdrop a clear, deep and familiar voice drifted to his ears.
"How rude, after not seeing me for ten years and after eavesdropping on my rambling you are leaving? You should get inside Klaus."
He turned his head towards the voice. He saw a man a bit advanced on his age but his presence was undeniably powerful and exudes fear and authority that demands respect to anyone who came across him. The man's head was covered with his grayish hair and his skin was a bit tanned and wrinkly but his light amber colored eyes indicated that he was a descendant of the shape shifters. Though he had a blood of a Nephilim it was thin and is almost negligible, all he got was a physical strength more than an average human. However he was known and feared by both humans and Nephilims, because what he lacked he made up with his wits, and perseverance. Klaus noticed that the man was wearing their standard white habit with a big red cross emblazoned at the center of it. Knowing who the man was, Klaus smiled and shook his head in mixture of joy and annoyance.
"Sorry Fay, I did not intend to disrupt your meditation."
Fay raised his left brow quizzically, amusement dancing in both their eyes, in a heartbeat they started laughing like old times.
"It's been a long time that we had this kind of conversation, you've been asleep for ten years. You took your time and now look at me! I'm old while you're still the same!"
Klaus looked at his friends appearance like an appraiser appraising a jewelry and he noticed indeed his friend's age has caught on him some things might have happened while he's taking his rest. Though he might have aged Klaus could still feel and see Fay's keen eyes and strong features like his broad shoulders and jaw. He possessed a body trained to fight like an unsheathed sword. The power that he once have were still there but now it was more a sleeping lion, concealed from anybody unless provoked. A small smile played in Klaus' lips pleased with what he saw.
"Faymond de Molay, Grand master of the Templar Knights why are you here? How did you come here? The preceptor did not mention it earlier."
Fay flinch at the mention of his name and position but since his friend just came back he took the initiative to be forgiving and gracious. He again smiled but it was replaced then by a serious look.
"What happened today was odd. It seems a fall out but my gut is telling it isn't that simple. Let us talk somewhere else"
Fay went out of the room and lead the way in the dark corridor walking briskly and proud but Klaus noticed something was amiss since his friend's back looked a bit slacked. It took a while for them to reach the preceptory's chapel. It was an old looking church made of lime stone at the front top part of the door there were two gargoyles towering over. Fay pushed open the large oak doors and they were greeted with an empty chapel.
"Seems like you've achieved what you wanted."
"Ah yeah, of course I can't slack off."
The Grand master looked like a young boy boasting to his older brother. He continued walking all the way to the center of the chapel where a Solomon's pentacle was drawn. Klaus silently followed him while observing the runes written on the two layers of circle and was amazed at what he saw.
"It's a pentacle with multiple purposes. Looks useful and amazing"
"I'm so excellent aren't I?"
"Yeah, yeah. Now why are we here?"
Before answering Klaus, Fay's commanding voice echoed breaking the silence.
"Irasan Ragul"
The magic circle activated and a warm white light gushed from the runes, there were straight lights first then it gradually bends and meshed together like a ball of thread. It was a Holy Barrier capable to suppress any possibility of any form of attack and eavesdropping, neither light nor noise can escape from the inside. It was a barrier used by the Order during conclaves of highest importance. The setting up of the barrier requires great knowledge of the language of the nephilims the Lainon Ultion, high spiritual energy, faith and stamina. Inside the barrier Klaus was nodding in approval.
"You've exceeded yourself again Fay. A magic circle capable of transportation, exorcising evil and a barrier at the same time. Well done!"
Fay beamed proudly, his wrinkles were now evident in his face but joy was written all over his face.
"It took a decade to create and master it, I can even skip saying the whole chant! Besides I have to be good at something or how else can I hold onto my position as a Grandmaster eh? I can't forgo the chance to boss you around!"
He laughed boisterously totally enjoying the praises Klaus were showering him. Klaus seldom praise someone, it was as rare as a rain in a dessert. Fay's smile was infectious and Klaus could not help but smile too. Klaus remembered their first encounter like it was just yesterday. It was when Fay was still a cheeky spoiled brat, but for some reason the little guy always followed him around when he stayed in their manor to finish a mission or just wanted to talk to his father who was a part of the governing council that time. But now his appearance was totally different, except that childish eyes that twinkles when he was proud for being praised. A tinge of sadness appeared in Klaus' heart, he treated this man as his younger brother and guided him along the way but now he could pass to be his grandfather. A sigh escaped from Klaus's lips, that did not escaped from Fay's notice, he certainly understood what Klaus was thinking but there was no helping it, and he was born more human with a short life span unlike the Nephilims who can live for centuries. After an awkward silence Klaus spoke like nothing happened.
"So? You were talking about what happened earlier?"
Faymond lowered his head and thoughtfully said.
"As I said my gut was telling me it was not simply a Necromancer going rogue. It was very rare to come across someone who knows Lainon Ultion. The language of the heavens was too powerful and destructive that both sides-humans and nephilims agreed to control its use. It was a highly guarded secret by the Order and the nephilim's High Nobles, that was why our ancestors used Latin on our spells."
"There were other possibilities to consider Fay. There were entities that were more knowledgeable than humans and nephilims about this language."
Tension was forming inside Fay, his expression turned serious as he considered it. True, there was no one who was better than them except the one who taught the humans this language. Klaus continued speaking.
"It was the angels who taught humans this language when they descended from heaven. There were two possibilities it could be the Demons or the Watchers."
