Deafening sounds of explosion could be heard in the vast jungle, trees and the earth were shaking violently as shockwaves rippled through the forest.
The sky above was illuminated by flashes of light as if a storm had descended upon the land, though there was no rain, only chaos. The explosions left craters in the ground, and a thick cloud of dust and debris hung in the air, obscuring visibility.
"Damn, they're really not holding back." Zenkichi glanced back at where the source of the chaos was happening, while running deeper into the jungle with incredible speed while carrying Ereshkigal princess-style. "Ereshkigal, any idea how to get out of here?"
"....Can't we just fly out of here?" Ereshkigal said.
"Ah."
Zenkichi blinked and his demon wings instinctively unfurled from his back. The leathery, bat-like appendages stretched out, their dark membrane catching the light as they beat the air. However, as they began to lift off the ground, Zenkichi felt an oppressive force pressing down on them, making flight difficult.
Ereshkigal grimaced. "It seems like there's some kind of barrier or field preventing us from escaping by air. Jaguarman's territory must be heavily warded against intruders."
Zenkichi frowned and retracted his demon wings. His eyes shone like sapphires as he channeled his Divine Authority.
With the sun shining upon them, right now, Zenkichi was at his strongest as a God of the Sun.
"What-?!" Ereshkigal's eyes widened as she felt an unbelievable amount of divinity surging out of Zenkichi's body, as two pairs of pure white angelic wings emerged from his back, glowing with a radiant light.
The oppressive force that had been hindering their flight seemed to dissipate in the presence of this divine energy.
Ereshkigal could hardly believe what she was witnessing. "You were part angel this entire time?!"
Zenkichi glanced down at her, "God of the Sun, actually. With the sun at its peak, my powers are amplified. Let's get out of here before things get worse."
Ereshkigal blinked, dumbfounded. "Part God? No, that doesn't make sense though. How can you be part God and part Demon? In the first place, Godhood doesn't differentiate if you're a demon or something else, there's loads of Demon Gods in the cosmologies. It's just whether you're mortal or God, which from what I can tell, you're also mortal...? What are you?!"
Zenkichi casually shrugged, "What do you mean? I'm Zenkichi Hitoyoshi, just your average highschool student."
"....YOU'RE A STUDENT?!"
Zenkichi chuckled and just as he was about to fly away, he suddenly felt a presence flying straight at him with incredible speed. His instincts kicked in, and he quickly adjusted his position, narrowly dodging the incoming attack.
The air around them seemed to crackle with energy as a figure emerged from the dust and debris—a large, imposing creature with a tiger-like appearance, its body crackling with dark energy.
The creature's eyes glowed with malevolence as it snarled at Zenkichi and Ereshkigal.
Zenkichi felt a strange resonance within him, "Gluttony" was responding to the Ancient Monster's presence. The primal hunger within him stirred, echoing the creature's name. It was as though his very essence was being drawn towards the malevolent power before him.
"Ancient Monster..."
"Gluttony...." The Ancient Monster's growl was deep and resonant, carrying an eerie sense of dread. Its eyes, glowing with a predatory hunger, locked onto Zenkichi.
The air around them seemed to thicken with malice, as if the very atmosphere was reacting to the presence of the monstrous entity.
The Ancient Monster moved with terrifying speed, a blur of motion as it closed the distance between them in an instant. Its massive claws, crackling with dark energy, were poised to strike.
"Geppo?!" Zenkichi exclaimed in shock and he propelled himself backward, narrowly avoiding the deadly swipe.
The Ancient Monster growled with anger and swiped its claws at him ferociously, stepping on the air like solid ground created shockwaves, tearing through the jungle and leaving trails of destruction in its wake.
"You know its name?"Ereshkigal asked.
"No. Geppo is, well, a reference to a movement technique somewhere else." Zenkichi replied, projecting numerous low level noble phantasms and shot them at the roaring beast before them.
"Shiny!"
The Ancient Monster's lit up and tensed its demonic claws as, instead of deflecting the Noble Phantasms, it caught them with ease, hugging them before opening its jaw into epic proportions and swallowing the weapons whole.
The Ancient Monster's eyes glowed even brighter, filled with an insatiable greed.
"More! More shiny, more power, mooooooreeee!!"
'So, that's Greed. Good to know,' Zenkichi narrowed his eyes and he looked down at Ereshkigal, "Hey, do you have enough juice to survive a 100 feet fall?"
"....Why are you asking that question in specific?"
"Is that a yes?"
"Well, yes, I recovered enough energy to-kyaaaaaa—"
Zenkichi had dropped her without any hesitation and turned to face the monster, who stood still and stared at him in disbelief.
"What? It's for her own safety!"
"Give me your body!"
Greed certainly didn't give a shit as to why Zenkichi had dropped Ereshkigal. It lunged forward, eyes alight with a ravenous hunger, intent on consuming more of Zenkichi's power.
The monster's claws extended, space distorted, reaching out to grasp him.
Zenkichi clenched his fists, his body glowing with a radiant golden light as his divine power surged. His angelic wings spread wide, catching the sunlight and amplifying his divine aura. His blond hair glowed brightly, turning into golden flames that danced around his head like a fiery halo.
With a clenched fist, he threw out a fist enveloped with flames.
Cracked* Boom!*
His eyes widened in shock, space itself seemed to shatter as his flaming fist met Greed's claws.
The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the air, distorting the surroundings as if reality were being torn apart.
The collision released a blinding flash of light, temporarily blinding both combatants.
As the light faded, Zenkichi and Greed were pushed back from the force of their clash. Zenkichi hovered in the air, his wings beating steadily to keep him aloft, while Greed skidded backward on the ground, leaving deep gouges in the earth.
'Holy cock and balls! Did I get stronger?!' He looked down on his fist with wonder. Was his dream earlier earlier had something to do with it?
"Strong...." Greed licked its lips, not a scratch on its body.
Zenkichi grimaced, "Well, you're more durable than Gluttony at least," he muttered under his breath. He looked down to see Ereshkigal safely landed and he inwardly sigh in relief.
'System, what's the range of my Hero title?'

Zenkichi blinked, 'Uh, come again?'

'What do you mean equip?!'

Zenkichi's eye twitched, 'So, during the whole thing in the underworld...?'

'You motherfucker—!' A large monster claw appeared before Zenkichi's eyes, dark energy enveloping it as it pulsated with a menacing aura. He tilted his head back, dodging the sneak attack. 'Son of a bitch almost had my face.'
He wiped the blood from his check, the wound regenerated in the blink of an eye. He coldly eyes Greed.
Greed grinned savagely, licking its claw where a trail of blood was seen.
'System, equip all except Godslayer. I don't want to scare Ereshkigal.'
[Understood. Equipping Titles: Hero, Demon Slayer, and Usurper.]
Greed tensed up, its red fur bristling with trepidation as Zenkichi's divine aura surged even further. The jungle around them seemed to hold its breath, the oppressive tension palpable in the air.
Zenkichi's eyes danced with golden flames.
Greed's eyes glowed more intensely, and it let out a deafening roar, its voice echoing through the forest.
"Alright fuckface, I've been getting L's for a while now. Time to change that."
The two stared at each other for a moment before they disappeared in a blur of motion.
The jungle erupted into chaos as their clash resumed. The air crackled with energy, and each impact between Zenkichi and Greed sent shockwaves through the forest, splintering trees and causing the ground to quake.
Zenkichi's divine light clashed with Greed's dark aura, creating a dazzling display of power. With every strike and counter, the jungle was torn apart, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
The trees were shattered, the ground was gouged, and the once vibrant landscape was now a battleground of epic proportions.
Blood spilled continuously as the other attacks raged on. The battle between Zenkichi and Greed had become an almost apocalyptic spectacle.
Each clash of their powers caused seismic tremors, and the once dense jungle was now a wasteland of splintered trees and scorched earth.
Greed, despite its monstrous resilience, was beginning to show signs of strain. It had a resilient body, but a slow healing factor.
Zenkichi steadily gained the advantage as he unleashed his Devil Style, God Mode, and he was prepared to use The End, but he was surprise to find out that....he didn't need it.
He was prepared for any trump card that Greed might be hiding.

Devil Style: Divine Sun Fist
Zenkichi's fist, enveloped in radiant golden flames, sunk deep into Greed's stomach. Divine flames surged, completely enveloping the monster in golden flames as it let out a primal scream.
"Gah..." Greed vomited a mouthful of blood after the flames died out, its face completely drained of all colors and all its fur burned off. Its body was completely like charcoal.
"....Devour," Zenkichi had no mercy, dark marks appeared across his face and a dark-purple energy with sharp teeth surged out of his arm and covered the weakened and battered Ancient Monster—there was a loud crunch as Greed disappeared before him.
