Chapter 5 - The Unfinished Story.

Lexi choked on the story as she suddenly remembered something sad. She stared at her daughter, bearing an expectant gaze. Her heart ached, however, she didn't want to finish the story as it would bring more pain to her.

Averting her gaze from her daughter, she said, "It's time to sleep now. We have work to do."

"Hmmph! mommy you didn't finish the story," sulked Tyra. However, she didn't have the nerve to defy her mother's orders. She closed her eyes and went to sleep.

Lexi lovingly stared at her daughter and propped a kiss on her forehead then left the room. As she arrived the exit, she came face to face with Raphael's gentle gaze. For a moment she was started as she didn't he would be there. Raphael suddenly gathered her into an embrace. The stunned Lexi remained put in her position not sure where to to put her hands. She neither resisted nor accepted.

"Why didn't you finish the story?" whispered Raphael in her ear. From a third person's view, they broadcasted a kissing scene which wasn't the case.

A faint crimson colour flashed her face from the intimate action. This didn't go unnoticed as Raphael smirked at his wife's cute reactions. While the moon gradually brightened the dark skies, someone's face turned gloom as he witnessed the intimate scene inside the hut.

His slender fingers curled into a pale fist. He hadn't realised how his body slightly trembled as his eyes flashed with a murderous glint. All along he'd been watching through the window as the mother-daughter pair interact harmoniously.

He had smiled witnessing the little bubble of his daughter laughing at her mother. Besides, all his daughter's little reactions made him happy. Though he could only watch from a far, his heart felt contented.

Nevertheless, his smile didn't last long as a majestic figure of Raphael made an entrance into their tent. He smiled at his mate, Lexi while pinching little Tyra's puffy cheeks. The most irritating part was that Raphael kissed Lexi and that's on the side of his view.

Fists clenched with jealousy, he turned his back away from them and disappeared. Meanwhile, the couple inside seemed to be oblivious to what was happening outside.

Looking at the asleep, daughter of his on the bed, he sighed internally. He had heard the story Lexi narrated to Tyra. Though it seemed like an ordinary fairytale, he felt her pain and for a moment he thought the story talked about her.

"Why didn't you finish the story?" Raph suddenly asked Lexi.

Lexi stiffened instantly at his unexpected question. 'Why did he ask this? Did he find out something?' However, Lexi knew best not to appear panicked.

"I just felt the story would bore little Tyra," she lied with her usual poker face.

Raphael was well aware that she didn't love him but because of their mate bond she had no choice. Another reason was also because of Tyra, her daughter whom she had to protect.

How could she bear to let the truth out? That her daughter was born out of wedlock? Or that her father was of an immortal race? The feeling that the truth would one day come to light never ceased to irk her.

She hadn't realised that her face kept on making strange expressions. Nothing else but sadness was displayed on her face.

An awkward silence sifted through the atmosphere as the night kept on darkening. The small chandeliers hanging inside the hut illuminated the gloom air.

On the other hand, Raphael didn't like the atmosphere before him so he enlightened it with a fake cough, "Ahem! Ahem! Little Tyra is cute when asleep..Hehe."

Lexi finally jolted her wandering mind back to reality. Her eyes instinctively glanced at her daughter who bore her features and avoided Raphael gaze.

Half an hour later, the lights were out and the occupants in the small forest fell asleep. The night guard wolves stood at the entrance of the forest, protecting the village as some did patrolling to ensure no rogues entered the vicinity.

Despite the strong security within Kazan, their pack name, it was useless on the grand wizard, Theodore. He didn't bat an eye as he quickly entered the hut where his beloved ones slept.

Inside the room, he saw that Raphael wasn't on the bed. A smile crept on his face on the thought that Lexi didn't sleep with Raphael. He simply couldn't bear this. Edging closer to the bed, he caressed her face, trailed down to her nose and then her lips.

He couldn't help but mumble to himself, "Lexi, my love, I'm sorry. I'm for not being by your side but you'll always be in my heart. I'll protect you from afar and watch as well-"

He paused and continued, "I still miss you. I miss you so much that I feel I'm going crazy. But do you still miss me Lexi?"

With his face up close to her and his red flame eyes glowing with affection, Lexi heard him. Under the totally dark ceiling, Lexi slowly opened her eyes. Seeing this, Theodore wasted no time and lunged for her lips. He gave no chance for her resistance.

Lexi stiffened beneath him as he ravaged her mouth with his tongue. His gentle yet fierce kiss at the same time, sent shivers down her spine.

Pressing his body onto hers, he felt her warm figure which he deeply missed. Years had passed since he last felt her like this and though he ascended back to his kingdom, he didn't marry anyone.

The more he felt her hot body beneath his cold one, the more desires he felt and kissed her more fiercely. 'She's always been mine. I don't care if she's married or not.' Theo thought. With that he roamed his hands down and up her body which was now thinly covered with light silk dress.

When Lexi felt him lift her dress, she stiffened and realized she forgot to push him. Lexi swiftly shoved him away from her and shook her head.

"Theo, we can't. We can't do it, no. I can't betray Raphael," she said.

Twisting his face in anger, Theodore pressed her by the shoulders implored, "Do you love him? Have you fallen for him?"
