Jamie was now in his house safe from his dad and mom. He decided not to go to the remainder of the school day since it was a hassle. He went to his drawer and took out the sheet music he had put inside. He put the music on top of his drawer before he made his way to the bathroom and took a shower, brushed his teeth, blow-dried his hair, combed his hair, and made his way to the cramped kitchen where he took some fruit, and some pills for his headache then went up to his room. Sitting down, Jamie ate his fruit as he began to practice the music with only his fingers. Jamie was not allowed to bring his violin home since he was afraid his father would have a rampage and destroy his violin, he wanted to play it safe. After a while, Jamie got up and began to fiddle with his phone, completely bored. Jamie saw the time and realized it was almost time to call it a day at school so he put on his sweater, fixed his glasses, and went downstairs. He put on his sneakers and left the silent lonely house.
Jamie had his back to the wall as he was fiddling yet again with his phone with so little enthusiasm. Akira appeared with a small book in his hand and a large scowl on his face. "Hey, treetop!" Jamie yelled as he waves at Akita. "Whatever you vertically challenged idiot," Akita said he put his book in his shoulder bag, "Why weren't you at school today I was worried."
"Oh, about that. . ."
"What happened?"
"I erm, got a job, the one's my dad made me do. . ." Jamie said as they continued walking at a steady pace.
"You don't know how much I want to punch your old man, WHY DID YOU ACCEPT THE JOB?!" Akira said with an intense glare.
"H-hey calm down! I'm okay the client didn't do me anything I accidentally fell asleep."
"Thankfully- wait you haven't been sleeping- you fell asleep on your client?" Akira said mid-sentence.
"Well I have to work at the convenience store sometimes then I go to the bar at night, I like helping Ali out, and yes I fell asleep," Jamie said with a smile.
"Why can't you just take care of yourself first?"
"It's okay it's a one-time thing, I need money for the competition."
"Look, if you need money I'll give some to you!" Akira said a little frustrated.
"I won't accept it, you do too much for me, that's enough for me," Jamie said as he put his hands in his hoodie. Akita was rubbing his eyes in frustration as he ruffled his dark black hair. It then got awfully silent and the two just kept walking, without a peep coming out of the two males. "Akira I've been thinking about something for a while," Jamie said hesitantly.
"What's that?"
"I'm not go-going to therapy anymore. . ."
Akira was boiling at this point, he was just too frustrated and super angry that he couldn't think properly, his head has scurried elsewhere. "Why's that? Didn't you say it was all going okay?" Akira said as he held himself from shouting anything unnecessary. Jamie put his hoodie on as he was fidgeting with his fingers.
"Well, it's too much of a hassle you know? I-I feel okay now, plus it's been like eight months since the incident and my medication is going to end like next week, the doctor asked me if I believe I'm going to be alright, I feel fine!" Jamie said with a whole bunch of energy. Akira was calming down a lot at this point. "Just do what you want, I have to go to cram school now," Akira said as he walked away from Jamie.
"Huh? Cram school?" Jamie said to himself as he stood still in the spot, not moving a muscle. Jamie was a little angry at the way Akira reacted but didn't look too much into it. Just then his phone gave a little buzz and Jamie confused looked who could possibly send him a message. It was an unknown number and just the text gave him shivers.
