Half an hour later, Earth time, Li Yang and Jake emerged from the bar and set out to interview the first person on the list colonist candidates they received from Hardin's office.
Although they'd spent the better part of the previous hour sitting on their asses, they walked with tired, slow steps, steps that suggested a very long journey. Of course they did complete a long journey that day, cycling from Parson's Creek to Cambridge. But that wasn't the reason for their exhaustion. They'd made it to Maryland from New York on bicycles; after that, cycling anywhere was a piece of cake.
