The war room hidden in the basement of Jelly's villa was an imposing sight. Cruz was far too controlled to let his jaw hit the floor, but his lower lip definitely sagged when he saw what was inside.
The centre of the war room was occupied by an enormous raised-relief map sculpted and painted with plenty of care. It lay on what appeared to be many ping-pong tables set together. A standard, flat map was pinned to the wall across from the entrance, and it was correspondingly huge. Both maps depicted the southern Pacific hemisphere, and were decorated by a multitude of tiny flags and markers.
The underground room was brightly lit by overhead lights that had to burn through at least a couple of dollars every hour. A bar equipped with yet another working refrigerator stretched to the left of the entrance—Jelly clearly put a lot of importance on easy access to cold beer.
