The pilot of the flying boat parked it expertly on the other side of the pier from the ship. A couple of tiny figures sprang out of the ship and scurried around, securing the airplane to the pier. Another couple of figures emerged from the plane's cockpit. One of them was visibly larger than the others: it had to be Jelly. The flying boat's nose bobbed as Jelly climbed onto the pier.
Susanto and Cruz watched Jelly make his way down the pier, followed by the pilot. Susanto waved. To Cruz's surprise, Jelly waved back. He had noticed them watching him from the villa's terrace.
Cruz was all for intercepting Jelly as soon as he stepped into the house, but Susanto said:
"Let's give him some time to settle in, Gabriel. Anyway, I'm hungry. Let's go back inside and see whether we can get some food."
