Jelly's villa was indeed located on the west coast of New Zealand's northern island, a forty-minute drive from the hotel. Their green Holden, driven by Leo, passed through increasingly wealthy, increasingly sparse neighbourhoods until all buildings disappeared from sight and the road was running through a forest.
Cruz began feeling slightly uneasy—forests and jungles had that effect on him—when hiding from an angry former business associate, he'd spent three months hiding in a jungle shack.
