Lord Moran's proposal went far beyond the most bold of Jerry's dreams.
It started with replicating Jerry in the New World. Lord Moran was already building a colony there. He controlled a settlement populated by the citizens of Galway; the subservience demonstrated towards Lord Moran by the pub's patrons gained a new significance.
It wasn't going to be the only settlement owned by Lord Moran, either. As soon as he returned to his estate, Lord Moran planned to launch another settlement from its grounds. Then another, and another—he owned a lot of land.
It wasn't exactly great land: it was suitable for grazing sheep and not much else. But it included a stretch of the shoreline with good fishing, and a bay suitable for a port. There were enough trees to provide a moderate amount of timber, and a scattering of minerals whose exploitation on industrial scale just wasn't cost-effective. However, it would definitely be worth it in the New World.
