Chapter 31: Departure
Liam calmed down after a few seconds passed. He immediately remembered his sudden outburst so he was embarrassed.
"Please come in, first."
The agent nodded and entered Liam's house. It was a simple house with a clean and comfortable look on it.
Liam led the agent into their living room. They sat down facing each other. Liam's mother heard her son's shout so she knew how shocked he was. She was also shocked when she heard why the agent was at their house.
Of course, which mother would endanger their son by calling him when someone looked for him when he didn't even have any friends since he stopped studying nor when he was in college. She wasn't that kind of mother that wouldn't meddle their son's business because she find it annoying.
She knew her boundaries but she would also use her rights especially when someone knocked on your doorstep one day looking presentable with polite smile. These days, there's no way people would greet someone like that unless you're a suspicious person!
But, she was wrong. The agent presented his ID and the letter with their seal on it. So, she called Liam and calmed her heart when she heard why the agent paid them a visit.
Liam's mother, Julianna, quickly fetch the visitor a food and drinks. Filipino's were hospitable whenever a visitor visited them, at least Idanza family still practice that behavior.
The guest gave his thanks to Julianna and waited the bomb he threw sink into Liam's mind. Liam cleared his throat.
"So, I was nominated as one of the participant of the All Star Player League?"
"Yes, I am here to deliver the letter of our company as proof of your eligibility to participate on the League. Please don't forget to check your email and phone." The agent said exasperatedly.
Liam apologized to the agent and bid farewell after their simple talk. "I'm participating at All Star Player League. I'm participating at All Star Player League. I–"
Julianna blocker her son's mouth. "Yes, you're really participating at that League. You should check your email."
Liam nodded at his mother and smiled. He was thankful that today he wasn't alone or he wouldn't know who he could tell the good news or how he should face the agent.
Liam was still dazed when he checked his email. He read it thrice before it finally sink in. "I'M REALLY PARTICIPATING AT ALL STAR PLAYER LEAGUE!"
Julianna heard her son laughing at himself and she didn't know how long she heard her son laugh loudly. She could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Cynthia woke up and looked at the direction of her brother's room. She saw her mother smiling happily so she stopped what she wanted to say. She greeted her mom and ate her breakfast while listening to her brother's antics. She only shook her head and smiled.
Liam packed his belongings and his toiletries. He talked to her mother about going to South Korea. Of course, she approved at the same day. She told him to focus on packing and she would talk to her husband.
Cynthia also approved. Liam needed a change of environment once in a while and she believed that South Korea was the perfect place for entertainment. Well, she loves Korean boy and girl groups even on her age. She was fan at heart.
Luckily, Liam have passport. The email was long but it also explained the frequently asked question by the players. For example, living expenses. The company would be the one sponsoring all of their expenses and the place they would be staying.
It was a hotel near the Seoul Olympic Stadium where they would be having the League. Thankfully, they would only need to participate on the last day. But, they could also enjoy the league by watching if they weren't a representative of their country.
Liam's flight was that day. The same day the agent visited him. They would pick him up at 7PM. Liam's flight was with the government's private plane. He would be escorted by one of the company employee.
Luckily, there was a device invented that could translate different languages. They also be given to them for free.
Julianna and Cynthia helped Liam packed his basic needs. They ate lunch and Julianna and Cynthia bade goodbye to Liam. They have to attend the wedding. But they could only go to the wedding reception.
Liam logged in for awhile and prepared everything he could. He bought a rare weapon at the auction house. He also bought a set of armor. He also farmed mobs for awhile until 6PM.
When he logged out. He checked his luggage once again before taking a quick bath.
Liam's day passed in a blur but he couldn't still believe it. He dressed in a casual wear that he think was a pass.
He didn't care about his looks but he couldn't say if others wouldn't criticize him. Especially he was going to participate at the All Star Player League.
Julianna insisted on buying a new clothes for him but he declined. Cynthia gave him an allowance to exchange for Korean Won. But, he refused.
He wasn't going in a party but in a competition. He just have to be presentable enough. He wasn't there to impress but to contend.
Liam's mother and sister came back before 7PM. They almost didn't make it in time. They wanted to bade Liam farewell and wish him good luck.
It was his first step after his accident. They didn't count studying as Liam's first step because it only lead to depression.
Liam was happy, of course. They exchanged goodbyes and telling them to watch his performance. They joked around before the agent finally arrived. Liam gave his mother and sister a final goodbye before riding the car.
Liam travelled for 2 hours and a half before arriving at the airport. He was escorted by the waiting agent who would be his guide before departure.
When Liam stepped inside the plane he saw the flight attendant. He exchanged pleasantries with her. He was guided to a seat. He was the only player inside the plane.
After an hour the representative for their country arrived one by one.
"Hey, my name is Anthony Pangilinan." A thin youth greeted Liam.
"Liam, Liam Idanza."
"Oh! Nice to meet you, All Star Player Liam Idanza! I really wanted to see you!"
Liam gave a pleasant smile and exchanged greetings with everyone. All in all, 6 male and 1 female representative would be his companion.
Anthony was a professional player who started playing virtual reality games as soon as he could. The same for the other six. They were called by the government because of their fame on the gaming community.

Of course Liam didn't reveal his class. They were all normal classes who undergone a second awakening.
Warrior have 5 branches: Barbarian, Martial Artist, Knight, Holy Knight, and Fighter.
The difference between different branches were their main stats. Barbarian focus on strength and uses heavy weapon.
Martial Artist focused on their agility and strength delivering fast combos. Knight focused on their great defense and large health.
Holy Knight focused on their health, intelligence, and defense. Lastly, Fighter focused on their dexterity, agility, and strength.
Mage only have two branches which were Wizard and Great Magician. Wizard focused on all elements while Great Magician focused on mana and transforming them into a magic attack. Great Magician was a crowd control type mage and short cooldown and cast time.
Ranger also have two branches which were archer and gunslinger. One focused on bow and arrow while the other on guns.
Thief have two branches which were great thief and scout. One relied on burst attacks while the other on long drawn out battle.
Lastly the priest have two different branches which were bishop/lector and battle priest. One focused on healing while the other was on the front line with greater healing than holy knight.
Other classes were hidden and unique. Unluckily, Philippines didn't have any one of those in the plane except Liam.
Philippines would be bruised and battered again. Liam didn't expect from his country after all, they weren't one of the power houses anymore.
The flight was noisy because of the 7 representative. Sometimes, they would asked Liam about his experiences and inputs about their plan. They were briefed on the first day event.
Liam looked outside of the plane and sighed. "What a long night."
