Chapter 21: Start of New Adventure
Everyone emerged from the exit of the tower. They also read the global announcement. It was repeated thrice and everyone now was buzzing with murmurs and talks about the first clear of a dungeon.
Everyone nodded and dispersed. They knew not to get caught up with the gossipers. They might as well announce that they cleared the Hell Difficulty if they stayed there.
Liam remembered after the dazzling lights a notification telling him that he got the Dorian's Promise.
[Dorian's Promise (Accessory) (Unique)
Type: Ring
STR +35
VIT +35
DEX +30
Dorin's Will(Active): Summon Dorian to fight for you. Lasts 1minute. (Cooldown: 1D)
He also got a wish in a form of a gift. He also checked it. Unfortunately, his wish didn't open after he exited the tower like it was supposed to.
It could only mean that, it wasn't time yet. He remembered after he used his wish on the altar, he heard a voice telling him how to use it and how it will help him. It didn't clearly tell the earliest and latest he could get it.
Liam with his worn out clothes walked out of the gathering players near the dungeon. They all had a mutual understanding that clearing the tower once was enough.
Liam trekked his way towards where Hanz was. Unfortunately, Hanz was nowhere to be seen nor clue to where he should be. With the sudden turn of events Liam was confused on how to deliver the news to Hanz.
While Liam was looking for Hanz, Velkner, Misha, and Leonel weren't exception. Looking for their master was their new goal.
Unlike Liam, who was finished with change class, others were still completing their quest for change class. Unfortunately, it seemed like a new trial to find them.
Liam also knew the peculiarity of his master. Hanz might look easy going but he never leave Liam without telling him something.
Liam remembered that there was a city nearby. Since the start of his 1 year training, they moved throughout many places with different beasts and environment.
Luckily, he was near a city but he didn't know which city. Liam learned the profession gathering and cooking through Hanz which was surprising especially cooking.
Hanz training wasn't your average running and breathing. It also included strenuous exercise that needed extreme concentration like cutting a leaf into two with his eyes closed.
The most important part of his training was dodging Hanz attack while staying on a log. It strengthen his intuition through dangerous situation. Hanz's training was dangerous itself. He was almost sent back to revival point. Luckily, Hanz stopped at the right time.
Liam looked at the Tower one last time before completely disappearing. While, around the tower there were a lot of people exiting the dungeon simultaneously.
"What's going on?! Why does the tower gave a notification that the tower was conquered?!"
"Right? I thought I was the only one!"
"Oh my god! No! We were at the last floor!"
"Really? You know, the boss was only 5% and we're done but no! The tower has to kick us just when we're finishing without compensation!"
"It's a bug! It's a bug!"
"Did you read the announcement? After that we were sent back at the entrance!"
There were different kind of players inside the dungeon but there was only one conclusion they have. The tower was closed. They couldn't enter it after trying many times. Others didn't believe so but when they tried it was an unseen force stopping them for continuing.
Some logged out and reported it but the only reply they received was confirmation that the dungeon was being updated.
Some people also spread the news at the forum for the 1st clear of the dungeon and the closing of tower.
Unknown to the group, a certain someone was clicking his tongue after he read the posts. He was angry that he failed. He was none other than Black Hope. He was the hero turned into villain or Order faction into Chaos faction.
He clearly had a malicious intent towards them but he acted like he wasn't. Unluckily, only one was turned into a puppet. It was none other than Ye Han who was unlucky enough to die in his teammate's hands but because of his action he was afflicted the status of greed turning into a uncontrollable body.
Ye Han could only despair on his luck. He also wanted to hide away from his teammates. After he was revived he travelled to the next town far away from the dungeon.
Liam arrived at the city. It was a city bustling with people. He didn't see any of his teammates nearby. He went into the city and asked about the whereabouts of his master.
"Excuse me sir, do you saw a handsome man with pale turquoise medium length hair with a shabby clothes? He was at least 1.9 meters tall?"
"No, I didn't see someone like that. Try and ask the guards nearby the gate. They might know something."
"Thank you, sir."
Liam bowed and didn't bother to ask the guards near the gates. They wouldn't see Hanz even if they wanted to unless it was a stall with food and lodgings.
Hanz could easily bypass a gate without alarming anyone. He knew because he saw it every time they passed a city. He only befriended those stalls with food and inns.
Hanz was in fact weird from a player's point of view. It was unclear whether Liam's conjecture was true or not but he has his speculations. Especially when he was logging out to eat or sleep. Hanz didn't bother him once or ask him whenever he wanted to rest.
Liam suddenly remembered the stone inside the tower of wish. He pulled it out and checked it. What he saw surprised him.
[??? Light Stone (Quest Item)
A stone within the Tower of Wish that aided its mysterious status. It served as a support on providing information through the priestess. It has a grey hue.]
"It- yes!" Liam laughed at the unexpected gain. The party totally forgot the stone that he got from the tower. But, unknown to Liam, they all presumed that it was a quest item from the start after what happened inside the tower.
Liam was truly… still… a beginner. He never cease to amaze himself for being an amateur for everything about games.
"Hey!" someone called Liam and when he turned he gave a smile.
"Hey, Rain, right?
"Yes, Liam. Thanks to you, we cleared the tower easily. You were totally great and amazing at that time."
Liam blushed at the sudden compliment. After his accident, he learned the ups and downs of life especially from those who was his 'friends'.
Rain's compliment was really sudden and true. Liam was at the verge of making himself a fool so Rain saved him by adding "Xavier was also awesome, so does Leonel. Hope to team up with you again."
Liam cleared his throat and saved his self. "Yeah, me too! I was actually happy to see you. Never thought that I'll have a great team right from the bat."
"Actually, I had a reason to be here."
Looking at Rain's expression he knew that something was up. So he didn't delay anymore and asked him "What is it? Can I help you?"
"You can actually. I was actually looking for you. Luckily I stayed and looked for you."
Liam pondered. He needed to look for Hanz but it wasn't actually urgent. He might also help Rain first before looking for Hanz. Liam looked at Rain and he decided to help.
"Sure. So what can I help you with?"
Rain looked at him and smiled. He could tell that Liam was actually a nice guy from the start but he didn't know that he could be that nice. Rain reevaluated Liam and nodded. 'He was really the right one'
When Liam looked at Rain without hearing an answer, he saw Rain looking at him strangely that made his hair stand in a strange way and an unknown feeling travelled to his brain to his heart.
"Would you like to go and kill a boss with me?"
