Alexandra stared and laughed in a gaudy way. "Nothing much. She brought up so much desire to have a daughter-in-law and grandkids. You know, old people are very easy to please."
Denzel sighed. "Seriously? That woman is very forgiving sometimes."
Alexandra let out a gentle giggle as the food was being served. Aromas filled the air and the scrumptious meal made Alexandra squeal in excitement. She wanted to gobble up the food immediately, but she restrained herself since they were in public.
"Rather weddings, I would like to talk about that… exquisite secretary of yours." Her eyes were cunning, gleaming with the lights.
Denzel paused. "What do you mean? He's just my treasured secretary. Did you know he is very reliable?"
"I wouldn't call it a he, per se."
"He might have some womanly features, but I assure you that he's a man," he said, chewing a piece of meat after.
"Why are you so confident? Have you seen him naked?"
"Talk properly in the presence of the meal."
Denzel was not that much bothered by what Alexandra had said, but his mind was getting flooded with countless and confusing thoughts. He wanted her to stop talking about Shawn as it reminded him of that "unfortunate' time, so he shifted the topic towards the upcoming project.
Alexandra smiled and teased him; she even called him a "workaholic". She then sighed and glanced to Shawn, who seemed to be busy talking to Claire. She smiled yet again before speaking in a devious tone
"I see you clearly lack the ability to read people well."
Denzel grunted. "Alexandra, I thought we were supposed to talk about business?"
"Oh my, look at Mister Denzel being all frustrated. I suppose that I should reveal you the truth?" she giggled.
"Stop your nonsense."
Another giggle left Alexandra's mouth before she shut up to listen Denzel's claims. Though after they have arrived at a conclusion moments later, she still can't keep the fun all to herself. She felt like she needed to expose that woman, though Denzel would most likely defend Shawn.
It merely amused her that Denzel was being protective of someone because he had never been involved with such a person before. From a distance, she couldn't really tell if Shawn was a man, but up-close, it was too obvious that he has something underneath his shirt.
"Are you even listening?"
Alexandra grunted like a little girl. "Aw, come one. You've been explaining that from a while now. Why can't we just chat about something else? I'm pretty sure the collaboration would be fine."
"You're very confident."
"I am not the iron-woman for nothing," she said, munching off the last bit of meat on her plate. Denzel sighed and stared at her for a moment before drinking his glass of wine; still, his swirling thoughts did not leave him alone.
"I'll make sure to enjoy this game of chance."
