The day had gone by roughly for Sharmaine. The only thing she enjoyed was her spending lots of money to buy sweet and fluffy fruitcakes. At the end of the day, Sharmaine and Denzel left the office without saying a single word; there were no confrontations nor ranting.
Sharmaine gazed through the window. The sky was beautiful tonight; the moon was bright and the stars shone all over the pitch-black heavens. It was a perfect moment to wonder what would it be like living far away from everyone.
After they arrived home, Sharmaine, as usual, helped Denzel with his stuff up to his room before tidying herself. A warm bath after a long working day was good, but when she came out, her body felt really hefty but she still needed to eat as she was starving.
"Ugh, do I have to eat?" she talked to her grumbling guts as if she's waiting for a response.
She chuckled. "Whoops, maybe I do!"
She excitedly launched herself up and left her room, meeting Denzel at the hallway. Though he stared at her, she did not want to wreck her mood, so she started skipping down the stairs. The aroma of food cheered her up even more. Now, she had realized that maybe those fruitcakes won't be enough to satisfy her.
The dinner table was filled with food from salads to chicken! It was such a dreamy place for Sharmaine as she sat down; her eyes widened and her mouth watered looking at the glorious soup. To her surprise, Denzel sat in front of her.
Despite of the unusual sight, Sharmaine dug in, grabbing every food to her heart's content. When she finally had a chance to taste the soup, she jerked up and ran towards the kitchen sink to spit it out.
"Holy sh*t, almost a quick call there," she muttered as she panted heavily.
When she sat back down, she noticed Denzel's face. Though he did not say a word, she knew that he was curious.
She pushed the soup gently toward him. "It has shrimp. I have mild allergy on those."
She smiled and continued eating, hoping that her body won't get worse tomorrow. A decent amount of food was left after Sharmaine felt full. She hadn't had a satisfying meal ever since as she would always fall right asleep after taking a bath.
Denzel, on the other hand, had his eyes slightly widened. He took a look on his plate and Sharmaine's plate and noticed how little he ate compared to her. He also finished up just after Sharmaine let out a loud burp.
Sharmaine's cheeks flushed. "Whoops, excuse me!"
"Disgusting."
"Whatever." Denzel was not about to spoil Sharmaine's extremely precious mood. After resting for a bit, she started to clean up the table, storing the leftover food for later consumption.
"The food was good!" Sharmaine exclaimed as she washed the dishes.
Meanwhile, Denzel stood at the side, watching her clean. After that, Sharmaine carefully walked up the stairs. When she entered her room, she let herself fall down on the bed as began wondering about the unusual moment a while ago.
"Did I just have dinner with Denzel?"
