Chereads / Girl & Rabbit [GL] / Chapter 11 - The Truth

Chapter 11 - The Truth

They say people do stupid things for love. However, A-Kuai never anticipated that things would escalate to this extent.

Sure, his sister's plan of cross-dressing as a guy to pursue a woman is already in itself a strange and stupid decision, but she was his big sister. Even if she said that she wanted to turn into a chicken, he would help her out to his best abilities.

Within reason, of course.

Anyways, right now, A-Kuai has a bigger problem to tackle.

How could he get his big sister back from that dastardly fox, Hu Dan? 'Ah, if I had stopped her from doing all of this, would any of these things happen?'

"Miss Ren Dong, you need to calm down," A-Kuai called out. "Dan Lue says that he is coming soon. He could lead us to where Hu Dan is hiding out."

"Argh!" Ren Dong brushed back her messy hair in frustration as she paced around the room like a trapped animal. "How do you know we can trust him! For all we know, this could be a bigger trap!"

"Hah," A-Kuai sighed. "Well, unfortunately, he is the only one who can give us a hint. Whether he had malicious intent or not, we have no choice but to trust him."

Ren Dong shot A-Kuai an angry frown, as she unceremoniously sat down on her bed. Though she had put up a front of rage and frustration, she couldn't deny the incredible waves of worry and sadness wash over her. 'How can A-Kuai act so nonchalant about this matter? Doesn't he care at all?'

As soon as the pair had returned home after discovering Wen Tu's kidnapping, A-Kuai had come clean about everything. From Wen Tu's gender to the original form of the sibling pair.

Initially, Ren Dong didn't believe that the pair were rabbit demons. That was until A-Kuai poofed in the middle of the room. A small snow-white rabbit, hopping out of the pile of clothes that A-Kuai was wearing.

'Geez,' Ren Dong shook her head after hearing the truth, 'What a silly rabbit.' She couldn't understand why Wen Tu didn't come clean sooner.

Did Wen Tu know her at all? Did Wen Tu think that she was the type of person?

"Knock, knock," a pounding at the door, snapping Ren Dong out of her questions. She would have a long chat with Wen Tu about all of this later.

Stalking over the door, Ren Dong pulled the door open as Dan Lue while was mid-knock. "M-Miss Ren Dong," Dan Lue sputtered. "How do you do this evening?"

"Could be better," and stepped aside to let Dan Lue walk through the door. He shivered as he felt her icy glaze latch onto his back as he made his way to the middle of the one-room home, to the table where A-Kuai was sitting with a book in hand.

Gingerly lowering himself in a chair, Dan Lue gave A-Kuai a nervous smile. "So, we met again."

A-Kuai's eyes flickered from his book and over to the nervous young man, briefly. "And under unfortunate circumstances, as it seems," A-Kuai replied as he placed a bookmark at the last spot that he was reading.

"...yes," Dan Lue muttered as he looked down at his fidgeting hands.

"Since you're here now, tell us everything," Ren Dong ordered as she leaned against the table and stared down Dan Lue, making him even more nervous than before.

"Heh, um, well," Dan Lue started as he nervously adjusted his collar, "after I had dropped by your house to invite to the lantern festival, a red-haired man had approached me. I think his name was-"

"Hu Dan," Ren Dong spit out bitterly. She was well aware now of Hu Dan's past advances on Wen Tu. 'What a sad and disgusting fox,' she scorned.

"Erm, yes, Hu Dan," Dan Lue nodded. "Well, at the time, I was a little curious as to what he was referring too. So, I decided to take a shot and go along with his plans."

"Until now," A-Kuai interrupted.

"Yes, until now," Dan Lue nodded in shame. "I never intended to harm anyone. I-I just wanted you to see me as a man," Dan Lue confessed as he looked up to Ren Dong.

Ren Dong remained unmoved.

Seeing this, Dan Lue looked away and continued, "But you make a very clear that you don't see me that way. Anyways, I originally thought that the two of us, Hu Dan and me, would work together to break you two, Miss Ren Dong and the white-haired boy, apart. That way, we could probably have a chance then. But-"

"Hu Dan changed his plans," A-Kuai deduced. "Perhaps, since he was, no is, still running high off of previous humiliation that he saw an opportunity to take his vengeance a step further as well as getting the person he wants."

"Eh," Dan Lue meekly nodded, "But I couldn't do it! He wanted me to come and capture you," gesturing to A-Kuai, "and then keep you imprisoned until further notice."

"Hmm," Ren Dong tried to process all of the information that Dan Lue had even them. "Do you happen to know where his hideout is?"

"Erm, no," Dan Lue shook his head. "But I do know where our meeting spot will be! He told me that after he captures a rabbit, he wanted me to wait there with him," gesturing once more to A-Kuai, "and wait for his arrival."

"Well, seeing as we don't know where Hu Dan's hideout is, we have no choice but to follow Hu Dan's plan," A-Kuai concluded.

"What do you mean by that," Ren Dong questioned. Dan Lue also seemed lost.

A-Kuai sighed and shook his head at these two humans. A-Kuai looked directly at Dan Lue, in which the latter flinched.

"It's as it sounds," A-Kuai said. "You have to capture me."

---

"Ughh," Wen Tu groaned out in pain as she gingerly turned her body to her side. Her head throbbed in pain as she laid there on the cold ground.

'Where am I?' She squinted her eyes as her eyes adjusted to the stream of morning light that peaked through the mouth of the cave.

Wen Tu tried to process what had happened before she had blacked out.

She and Wifey were on a date, in which A-Kuai and herself meticulously planned.

Then Wifey told her the story of the rabbit god, who happened to be a cut-sleeve.

Then after Wifey had said that she would accept her even if she turned out to be a guy, a terrible cry was heard from the woods.

'I went to check out the source of the cry, but it was…'

"Hu Dan, you bastard!" Wen Tu cursed as she recalled everything. She tried to get up to look for the sly fox when she realized that she couldn't move an inch. "Ha! You dare tie me up, huh! You dirty fox, how dare you do this to me!"

"Now now," a lewd voice called out from behind her. "It's not nice to curse your husband, don't you know anything about the womanly virtues?"

Wen Tu craned her head back to glare at a cocky fox that made his way over to her. Hu Dan smiled at Wen Tu's fierce glare and leisurely walked over in front of her tied up form. "You know, I should have thought of this plan sooner had I've known how effective it proved to be."

Hu Dan reached out to stroke the side of Wen Tu's face, but she quickly maneuvered away from his hand. Hu Dan merely smiled at Wen Tu's furious glare and instead took the opportunity to grab a strand of Wen Tu's long white hair.

Bringing up the hair to his lips, Hu Dan kissed it with a victorious smirk.

Wen Tu recoiled in disgust as she watched Hu Dan's perverted glaze.

"Come on now," Hu Dan titled his head at Wen Tu's glare. "Don't look at me like that."

Wen Tu didn't respond to Hu Dan's words. Tempting the thought of spitting at Hu Dan's cocky face, but she didn't want to risk angering him.

Hu Dan seemed to quickly accept Wen Tu's silence and merely shrugged it off. "Good, it's good for a good wife to be silent."

"Who's your wife!"

"Haha," Hu Dan laughed at Wen Tu struggle to get out of her bondage and scratch his face off. "Still defiant as ever."

"Why," Wen Tu gritted out. "Why did you do this?"

"Hmm," Hu Dan hummed as he dropped the silky strand of hair. "What other reason could there be? I want you."

"Bullsh*t."

"Cursing now, Wen Tu?" Hu Dan said with mild shock and amusement. "Well, you're not wrong, I suppose. There's, of course, revenge against that accursed woman. Can you imagine the face she would make if she saw you, her 'beloved man' under me? Haha, that would be quite the sight! The look of fury and helplessness, ahh, that would be divine!"

Wen Tu couldn't help but shiver in fear and disgust at Hu Dan as he basked in his fantasy.

"Well, my dear," Hu Dan said as he got up. "As nice as it was to talk to you, I must be going. After all, I must go and retrieve my new brother-in-law."

Wen Tu watched Hu Dan's back with pure hatred as he swaggered over to the mouth of the cave.

'Wifey, come soon! And beat the hell out of this bastard while you're at it!'
