The Pantry.....
So this has relations to that troll and the egg..... There seems to be hell in this world based on this description as well.....Rats are the lowest of The Pantry's hierarchy but these are not weak creatures. There rank is also common which makes no sense..... Unless rank is based more on growth potential.

They make the first move and start tearing apart nearby treants and harpies. I had already withdrawn the spiders when everything had stopped. After scanning the mission I had Kess and Set retreat as well. Part of the nest is in the net so, I had everyone bunker up in there except Set.
I had her tatoo herself to me and we both used stealth. While watching the harpies and treants start to work together against the rats, I decide to distribute points into attributes. I have 3 points. I can put 2 points into intelligence and get a bonus or I could put 3 into wisdom and get one.... I might as well go with intelligence and put the extra in wisdom.

The new perk is pretty impressive. Hmmmm? Charisma, endurance, and agility increased. It was only by .1 but still..... Was my Core strengthened?
Territory Core [Fused](common)(unnamed)- Core that was fused with a being. Strengthens lesser aspects of the fused being along with itself.
While I was looking at screens, the battle is still going on. 6 rats have been killed total leaving 6 left. 2 were killed by the treant brutes but now there is only 1 brute left. 1 was killed under a wave of treants and harpies. and the last 3 were killed by the Variant high-harpy. She was wounded in the process and can't fly. The other harpies are defending her from the rats furiously.
The elder treant has been dueling the giant pantry rat but he is not looking so good. The rat is having trouble doing physical damage but the poison it has is working wonders. Guess this might be the best time to come out.
I want to try capturing the harpies and treants.... Well the treants are kind of a lost cause at this point as the last brute just died and the elder treant is probably not going to live past this fight. 'Kess I want you and the spiderlings to kill the rats attacking the harpies. After that, subdue the harpies. Dont kill them if you don't have to.'
It's a risky decision to do this with the quest that I have. If the variant high-harpy wasn't injured, I wouldn't even consider this option. However, I want to try subordinating them as flying subordinates are a great advantage to have.
While Kess is doing that I take Set and sneak up on the duel between the elder treant and gaint rat. I could catch the rat off guard but, there is the chance of the elder treant dying from poison. If that happens I won't get any benefits from it's death. It's not just greed either. I have a feeling that these 'eaters' are much more dangerous in a long drawn out battle.
So instead of going for the more logical choice of attacking the rat, I choose to sneak attack the elder treant. I have Set coordinate with me to attack it at the same time. I lauch a poison lance while she chops at its face.

The attack worked as it dies right away. The giant rat is pissed though. He immediately charges at us and I immediately realize just how huge he is. He's a real giant at 4 meters tall but, that does not make him slow. I quickly throw myself off to the side and avoid its claws. This fight is the opposite of the elder treant's. I can take the poison but one solid hit from it and I'm dead.
The attack from the rat slams the ground stirring up some dust and dirt. Good. I immediately re-enter stealth along with Kess. The dust resettles and the rat starts looking around and sniffing. Too bad. Thanks to the untraceable perk, I can't be found through most means. However, I should probably retreat a good distance. Its bestiary screen said it was not just large. It was also cunning....
I quickly hide a distance away. The corpse of the elder treant may be helpful as well so I hide behind it. My choice was correct as it starts throwing up rocks at ridiculous speeds with large sweeps. Then, Its eyes turn red as it starts throwing up more rocks at even faster speeds. It seems to have gone into a berserk state.

Hmmmm.... How should I deal with him.... I could try leaving him be until his beserk state is over but, he may look for other targets to kill. I wonder.... How far is the distance for poison pool. It never displayed distance limits so maybe I can use it from here? It is level 3 so I can make a 3 meter pool. He is 4 meters tall but, I can submerge a portion him for a good amount of time if he loses his balance.....
I cast poison pool towards his back legs as soon as I see him kick up his front legs. Going midair for a second, his beserk state is lost as panic takes over and he falls and rolls around in the poison pool. It takes a while for this guy to realize what's happened and drag himself out..... Gross.... A large portion of his skin is melted and bones are showing through in its legs and in its face. A weird green smoke drifts off its exposed muscle as it cries. Holy shit. I dont remember my poison being this vicious....
I think it may be due to having more points in intelligence plus the greater mind perk increasing damage to a level where common resistance is useless.... Anyways I have to kill it quickly. Thankfully Set and I are still stealthed as that was not a direct attack. While it screams in pain we sneak up and coordinate attacks again aiming at its exposed neck. The lance I fire is even more ridiculous as it burns through its neck. Set's chop meets little resistance as it cuts more than half of the rat's neck leaving its head hang downwards....
Its dead.
Hmmm? No golden mist? As I get confused I get a notification.
*Quest completed-Reward: Job Class Rank Up
With that notification, a golden orb rises out of the giant rat and rushes into me.
