She looked at her weapons and gulped like an inexperienced swimmer before the race.
"So that what mages do?" she remarked in a skeptical way. "I thought you have machines for me to defeat him."
"These are the tools used by the Order of the Star," explained the voice. "However, I did forget my introduction. I am Fyiona, the goddess of war. I am the reason you're sent from your world in order to defeat the evil Prince of Rekken in order to save a princess before her 18th birthday."
Then a little woman appeared with wings, looking like a precocious preadolescent with silvery white clothing with golden embroidery and an adamantine halberd in her hands gloved to hide her unsightly callouses. She landed on the ground in a dainty matter on her feet as she began to look at the mage with intent.
"As I was saying," remarked Fyiona. "I gave you powers to defeat the Rekkens in their quest for world domination. Metros and her nations are in grave danger. You must fight to save a Princess."
Akinyo asked, "Who's the Princess here and why is she important?"
Fyiona replied, "Zephyrs are increasing by the Rekken who wanted power over nature's way. If Ruk married the Princess Asykia, all shall be lost to the Rekken. He knew he was betrothed to her before the priests of the Sovereign Sun changed her father's mind and he would stop at nothing to get her as his bride."
"What is so special about Asykia?" She asked.
"She is to be the leader of her people by the time she is 18. Her father died recently by the assassin's hand before her 17th birthday. It was believed she has ability to bestow the elixir of life to anyone who would have it. Legend said that the Sovereign Sun gave her ancestors the abilities to create this potion in order to regain youth and vigor or to retain them for as long as they live. Ruk was a crafty young man who wanted nothing to do with her people and anything to do with this potion."
"A potion had anything to do with her?"
"Yes. And it's not the only potion to eternal youth but eternal life. If Ruk gets the hold of it," reasoned Fyiona, "he will be unbeaten in battle and the legacy will be lost."
"Sounds like he needs his ass kicked by a girl," Akinyo cried.
"Don't you need guys for it," scolded Fyiona. "I don't have to deal with mages being clobbered up by the Rekken and used in their experiments to get their jollies up. What do you think I am, a jolly sex goddess?"
"No," she said.
"Good, then you need warriors of both sexes, a necromancer, a thief, and a paladin with a great sword," she explained to Akinyo with a smile. "And don't forget a warlock."
